A true legend. "It's all because providence, fortune and luck." Notice "providence" is before anything else? That is why Sir David Tang can navigate freely between the east and the west. A converted catholic with Buddhism teachings at his heart.

Seach another interview of David in bbc hardtalk, and you can hear his another ascent. (I don't know why, but you can see he's different tone to different audiences)

I enjoyed this a lot more than I expected. Really entertaining and insightful. I don’t agree with the risk part completely though. Only take risks that are reversible and hedge risks as much as possible. Otherwise you will pay a huge price that without a trust fund or inheritance, you won’t live to see the end of.

Luck fate and destiny is the secret of life....the world is a stage and everyone has a role to play. If you're born to play certain role you're stuck. You can't choose your parents or the country you are born or what time or day you're born. The moment you're born your fate is fixed.

It is a tradition in Hong Kong to eat snakes either stir-fry or soup etc. in the speech Sir David referred to the snake in the Eden Garden. Hope I am right.

Even by western standards, he is a life adventurer. But he is favoured by Providence as most of his gambles paid off at the very last. Sad to see him pass away not reaching his ripe age
