Seriously I feel like one of the main reasons why I still love this mess of a series is when folks like Danny and Jordon teach me deeper things from within it and it ALWAYS fascinates me. I'm not sure why people are upset about the wish. Piccolo has a connection with the earth dragon and Piccolo-Daimao was known for wanting to abuse the dragon balls, like he did to regain his original power. Piccolo using the DB's to achieve a new power feels more natural than anyone else imo.

So just a quick thought, you could say the “peak” potential of a Namakian’s power is symbolized by the Dragonballs as they are one of the strongest objects in the universe. So it makes sense why Piccolo’s strongest form, this Super Namekian, would be orange as the Dragonballs (Namekian’s strongest creation) are also orange.

The Namekians have so much potential lore to explore. I mean they knew about the super saiyan god ritual and not to mention THEY were the ones that found the ORIGINAL SUPER DRAGONBALLS and shaved them down to their size to make wishes. To me Piccolo was easily the most deserving character in the entire series to get a new form and he got 2. I absolutely love Piccolo and him getting the power ups through wishes makes a lot of sense due to his connections to Shenron. I'm pretty sure that a certain power level was required to wish for it otherwise he could have done it way earlier. Piccolo literally always trained so him getting so much stronger now is only logical to me. Also both of the forms look really good especially Orange Piccolo and the tree symbol on the back makes it even cooler

Vegeta was training and 450 times normal gravity and getting shot by lasers and having to dodge and actually be precise enough to shut them off instead of just easily destroying them. So vegetas control should have already been far beyond goku let alone god vegeta.

Piccolo/Kami is my favourite character too because of his powerful story of self-acceptance and redemption. The end of the Piccolo Jr. saga was essentially a metaphor for a suicidal man who saw nothing but his worst, rescued by friends who saw his best. For all that he took from Earth, he gave back even more with the Dragon Balls. Like him, we are defined by our greatest moments as much as our lowest; if we can be villains, so too can we be heroes.

I think this movie was important for completing the arc of Piccolo and Gohan. The entire reason Piccolo kidnapped Gohan as a boy was that he saw how freakishly powerful Gohan was (despite having zero training), and he knew that power would be necessary to protect earth. He tried his best to get Gohan to tap into that raw power through survival in the wilderness and then brutal training, and while all of that helped to make him stronger, the real power is generated by strong emotion. Piccolo's sacrifice to save Gohan from Nappa was certainly a touching moment, but Gohan's history with Piccolo was still relatively short at that point. By the time Cell is around, Gohan has bonded enough with Piccolo that he prefers Piccolo's clothes. By the time of this new movie, Piccolo is family to Gohan. Because of their bond is so strong, Piccolo has finally achieved his original goal. Together they will always be able to protect earth because if they can't win a fight the normal way, Piccolo can always sacrifice himself to trigger Gohan's true power. And the movie prices Piccolo doesn't even have to die in the process for it to work.

The Nameless Namekian was nameless because his name was lost to time. It's also less that it was forgotten due to age, but rather because he was very young when he left Namek, he had no others who knew his name (even Grand Elder seemed to have forgotten), and he suffered a fair amount of PTSD, likely both from his early experiences on Earth and being nearly completely dissociated from his home and people, with this connection only being maintained in the subconscious act of creating dragon balls and remembering his native language. And no, Kami knowing the language isn't a plothole since the language was instinctual and Kami even taught Mr. Popo, who also taught Bulma so she and Dr. Briefs could fix the ship. In any case, most things that have been historically called nameless aren't called as such because they never had names, but rather they were forgotten or unable to be identified by name for some reason so calling him the Nameless Namekian works because he effectively had no name at the time and why it was so easy to go by the name Piccolo after the merger.

I was worried Piccolo getting a "slightly more yellow" colouration would've been his new form and I was so disappointed. Orange Piccolo was a pleasant surprise! I really like Piccolo more or less becoming the big beefy "tank" with regeneration powers. Ultra Instinct being the 'speedy' form. Just don't get hit, dodge all the attacks, then smack em back before they realise what you've done. Ultra Ego is just pure power. Take the damage you opponent gives and just deal double the damage back in an all out slug fest. Raw DPS.

I have no issue with the wish. I believe the answer technically was a double entendre. He wished to have his potential unlocked which was his lighter green (unlocked) form. How ever that's his INDIVIDUAL potential. How ever because he's namekian he has the POTENTIAL to fuse with every Namek in the universe. (Hence the Namekian tree symbol) .

He just one shotted a freshly healed TUI Goku and Ultra Ego Vegeta with one punch, at the exact same time... no way Piccolo can compete, he's not even as strong as 'Beast' Gohan... it's great he's relevant again (atleast in the movie, idk if it'll carry on to the manga or anime) and got a new form, but he's not on their level... Even if he gets a perfected orange form, he can't hang with TUI goku. Even perfected Blue would be a very difficult challenge for Piccolo... and 'Beast' Gohan isn't on TUI goku or Ultra Ego Vegeta's level either, it just doesn't make sense

I see Piccolo's new form as a sign of his growth and worthiness. Kami expelled the Demon King to make himself more pure and worthy of the title God, but ego isn't the only part of a person that corrupts, power does as well. With this in mind, Kami channels his strongest Namekian power into an object, expelling it from himself and discarding the temptations of power, creating the Dragon Balls. If we consider the Dragon Balls the true power of a Namekian, one so strong that it could corrupt the impure, then his Orange powerup is that power finding him worthy of wielding itself. Piccolo became what Kami thought he could not, he's a protector so righteous he can wield the true power of Namekians without corruption. Orange Piccolo is his final enlightenment.

Well he did not like the idea of joining with Kami again he did it just to kill Cell and failed. But over time Piccolo mind started to change really when Pan was born. An yes Shenron Piccolo has found his true self.

Piccolo and Kami have had an awesome story despite often just being in the back ground and not always getting a power up that makes a huge difference. It started with who I call Kamiccolo landing on Earth as a baby, no memory of who or what he is he'd explore Earth for sometime, he'd develop a good side wanting to protect Earth, yet also a dark side, he split into good Kami and evil King Piccolo, with Kami becoming Earth's Guardian and creating the Dragon Balls, but there was always the threat to his life that he couldn't kill King Piccolo or he'd die, thus he sealed his evil half away. Eventually King Piccolo would return and be killed by Goku, but not before spitting out an egg with his son Piccolo Jr to seek revenge, Piccolo JR or just Piccolo to most of us was an enemy of Goku for a time, but after facing Raditz together and seing Goku sacrifice himself and binding with Gokus's son Gohan while training for the Saiyan arrival, he softens up to the point that he sacrifices himself for Gohan, after the Freiza Saga Piccolo is now a good guy and member of th Z Fighters, he went from being the son of his evil father, to wizening and becoming an ally, this came full circle after Fusing with Kami, basically sort of reforming who they used to be, but letting Piccolo become the dominant personality. And now Picollo has become so connected to the family despite often being a loner that Gohan still sometimes wears a Gi like his and even enjoys him coming around. Piccolo is basically like an uncle to Gohan and an uncle to Pan now. It's so cute that Pan in the movie loves Piccolo so much. ANd now with wishing on the Dragon Balls he's come full circle, unleashing his full power like Gohan going Gohan Beast. Definitely an awesome journey, even if it isn't as useful or upfront like Goku's.

The evil kings are an archetype in any classic literature but in Piccolo's case hes also straigh from Dragon Quest. If you read Piccolo's arc after playing the classic DQ games the inspiration REALLY shows, its quite straigh forward, Piccolo is based on the early Demon Kings from these games, that Toryama ALSO designed and inspired all of japanese pop culture since the 80s

It does seem like Broly is being prepared to be featured in the anime (i.e. movies, series) eventually. It's hard to say if he'll be featured in the manga since he never was before, but it's possible. The series will continue after the ToP so it could be Moro and Granolah, but those arcs may differ significantly. It'll mostly depend upon what Toriyama gives Toei as a basis.

@@killer_boss01 So DBS has worked differently than traditional anime and manga, as the manga originally published a couple weeks early to be promotional of the anime, the anime was ahead most of the time, and the original source material being adapted by both anime and manga was Toriyama's manuscripts since he's the original author, but refused to draw another manga by himself. This meant that the most basic story elements remained the same between both, but ended up being different in various ways. The anime isn't beholden to the manga, only Toriyama, so most likely the anime will adapt manga arcs, however will do it differently, in fact the anime is at an advantage since they can analyze what did and didn't work for the manga and do it better. To be fair, the anime hiatus was good for the manga too, as there were many times Toyotaro made the manga different from the anime just for the sake of being unique so without the anime Toyotaro hasn't had to worry about being compared to the anime or expected to follow it. All in all, it's anyone's guess how Toei will adapt arcs, but they have a good chance of doing a good job.

Piccolo has been my top 4 characters in all of Dragon ball.... specifically Dragon ball Z... which I didn't follow any of dragon ball before Dragonball Z. but when after the understanding of the fued between Goku and the spawn of "King Piccolo demon king" from the original DB story... it hit me hard how Goku and Piccolo had to work together to defeat Radditz... it was amazing to learn that even though Piccolo spawn revelled in the fact that he got to kill Goku... but because Goku had to sacrifice himself to achieve that goal.... THAT is the precise single catalyst in why Piccolo gave ultimate respect to Goku for doing so was able to allow them to beat Radditz... that Piccolo went that much further to train his son out of the pure respect that Piccolo gave Goku for sacrificing his own life to allow themselves to save the entire world... because if that didn't happen... everyone would have been dead... and thus everything would have been gone due to the power of the Saiyan threat... which this particularly I immediately loved the character of Piccolo...

Piccolo earned the power up, his concern was rightfully placed and made sense, it was a smart move to know Gohan wasn't keeping up and Goku and Vegeta can't be everywhere at all times or even be on Earth at all times so he may as well start stepping up to keep things safe. It's just good to see him get stronger and advance closer to the level of even the Saiyan's in his own way.
