I think a Ring Fit app in which I could see my progress would help immensely even without sharing and social abilities because I would be reminded when looking at my phone to exercise and it would kind of "shame" me in a friendly and consensual way into opening the game more often by keeping it on the top of my mind.

For anyone curious about Ring Fit Sync mentioned at 3:38, don't waste your time. As Peter mentioned, it's too buggy to even play around with. Once in the app, it uses a camera always on behaviour rather than "capture photo" button, which is a bit odd but might be for a reason. That aside, the photo capture fails constantly with a Java array index out of bounds error, and you can't proceed. I tried different light conditions and angles. I got it to work once yesterday but the OCR misread/didn't read some values I'll stick to recording the workout on my watch/Samsung Health and transcribing the basic stats into a manual workout in Strava. I usually throw a screenshot of the exercise summary in too

I use Samsung Health too. What workout do you normally enter? I've been using Aerobics but it feels kinda skewed lol

Ahh this would've been cool. Maybe they could have even included things like a pedometer. And yes, sharing (and saving) custom workouts would be amazing

A pedometer that uses your phone's step-count to sync with the app would be so cool! There are so many possibilities. Being able to add workouts that aren't from Ring Fit all together for your daily activity would be a great feature to have.

The ability to use an external pedometer/HR monitor for a more accurate representation of your overall workout session would have been lovely.

I love this idea of having an app with Ring Fit! Hopefully if RFA2 comes out in the future that we'll get an app along with other neat accessories or features like a HR monitor or a pedometer! I'd love to keep a log of all my daily results and be able to share my results with friends with more stats besides my daily calories burned, time exercising, and distance run!

it would have been something nice to have. How easy is it to make an app? I feel it'd be a great way to bring people to Patreon for you, they pay whatever amount to keep it running, maybe be able to invite a friend ( I don't know how much an app costs) and TADA! I mean the worst part would be copywrite but there has to be a work around for it.

I have no idea, but its not the sort of thing I'd make to be honest. And I wouldn't be interested in paywalling either :) There is the Sync app I mentioned at the end, but I've had no luck with it. Hopefully if Nintendo make a Ring Fit Adventure 2 they consider a companion app.

I would love an app for ring fit. Just to give me reminders to work out to make a schedule. And to be able to post my progress on FB.

I think all prospects of a community-oriented app was already 6 feet under by the time Miiverse, Streetpass, and such shut down or phased out. Unless we're playing titles like Pokémon and Splatoon, we don't exist apparently. :/ The portability of the Switch came at the expense of the features that made earlier consoles a hit with families in the mid 2000s onwards.
