Mountbatten was proposed into Freemasonry by Prince Philip and Prince Charles (into the Navy Lodge No. 2612). Philip and Charles took this decision badly and, whilst both remained Freemasons, neither ever attended another Lodge meeting.

It just shows you not to be fooled by the benign outward appearance and image of these people and the way they are showered with love and respect by the media. We've seen how they protected powerful MPs including one prime minister and the Tory chief whip admitted on film that MPs were controlled by keeping their tendencies secret. Much in the way that Savile was put on a pedestal. We know that Royal families are often disfunctional and impersonal and often don't treat their own members very humanely. It's tragic that our society in the UK ensures that they're almost entirely above the law.
@bethdumont90203 ай бұрын
To all those who talk about the royals (like Trump) are "above the law". Yes - some people use money to bury legal action. Something you need .money to do in the 1st place. The Law is the way it is because people CAN AND DO MAKE FALSE ALLEGATIONS. Police officers CAN AND DO develop a theory about a case and blindly IGNORE evidence to the contrary. You all know this is true. If your name is on the wrong side of the vs, you're not necessarily found liable for what you did but for what the other side can PROVE you did that WON'T be overturned by an Appellate Court. If you're acquitted - it DOESN'T mean you didn't do what you're accused of - it just means the evidence against you wasn't considered strong enough by 12 "reasonable" people. And it's NOT the job of the defence barrister/lawyer to defend you - the job of the defence is to 1) test the Law (should it need testing) & 2) test the interpretation of the evidence against you. And - like nearly EVERYTHING in life (health care, housing, education) if you have money, you can afford better quality. Unfortunately - you can't make an omelette without breaking eggs, or so they say. To protect the innocent from being falsely accused (& it DOESN'T have to be malicious in nature, look at ANY wrongful conviction case) the system has to install certain guard rails. To have them there for the innocent - well, they also have to be there for the guilty. I, for 1, are glad they exist. Yes - it sucks. Last year I was stabbed in the back by someone I thought I could trust. Someone who made a verbal promise to me they NEVER intended keeping. However, although there is support for my stance in civil law - my evidence that they never intended to keep that promise isn't strong enough and they'll never admit to not intending to honour their promise. So I have no chance at restitution - I was defrauded of around $200k. Because of how the system works.

If the impoverished French could get rid of their oppressive, abusive and entitled Royalty, then the Brits can too. You just have to be organized and refuse to patronize and support them. They have enough accumulated generational wealth, that they can be removed from the public purse. Legally you can run the country without them by revising your laws and holding a plebiscite. Unfortunately, the struggling masses still want the royal jewelry and costume shows. Hope to see the momentum start rolling with some of the Commonwealth Countries removing the Royal Family as their head of state. One of the reasons, Battenberg liked to go to County Sligo for the summer holidays, because young boys were shipped over from Ulster, one of the young boys, who tragically got killed when the boat was blown up in County Sligo was even invited to his room, because he was just one of the helpers, who came, I believe from Fermanagh?

I was always under the impression that the children on the boat were family apart from the one boy who lived in the area and prepared the boat before the went out to collect their lobster pots. I've been reading a few of the comments and some people are trying to connect the dots as to the reason he died, it had nothing to do with him being a twisted predator, it was an IRA mission on a day where not only they blew up the boat, but also 2 massive bombs which killed 17 or 18 paras as revenge for Bloody Sunday. I was always amazed the Mountbatten was allowed to holiday in the Republic, no British security, just 2 local police keeping an eye on him, the IRA had publicly stated a few years earlier that members of the British forces, the government and members of the Royal family were in their view legitimate targets.

Higher class children were just as likely to be abused because they abuse would have been seen by them to be character building. Only children raised with loving, present, emotionally mature parents who encourage children to speak up are the least likely to be abused. Mountbatten was likely abused as a boy, himself, as evidenced by the fact he enjoyed being beaten and dressing up in baby clothes.Victims often reenact their abuse in ways that provide them more ability to assess things from different angles and in ways that provide them a semblance of power within the same circumstances. And the fact Mountbatten was a child molester in addition indicates that he felt uncomfortable with sex with adults, likely because they reminded him of his own abuse. Children probably were the only ones he felt safe around and the only language of affection/connection he knew was sex.

It was well known that the behaviour of both of them was by almost any standard you might care to apply be normal behaviour .I was told by my mother that he was a person that no one she knew would ask him to sit at their dinning room table not an explanation as a child I understood. The dual biography of 'Dickie and Edwina' touches on his connection with the Kincora Childrens Home. He had several sexual 'peculiarities', one of which when at 'Broadlands' he would go vigourous horse riding wearing a condom. When he was Commander-in-Chief Mediterranian whilst travelling in his limousine after breakfast from his residence to Valetta Harbour would have a young seaman on 'all fours' in front of him whilst he signed his correspondence on the lad's back. But the most frightening, I think, is when a young lad maybe 9 or 10 was brought to him from Kincora to Classiebawn Castle and led into a blackened room where Mountbatten would be stood in one corner. His attire one can only guess at. That is detailed in the biography I mention. He wasn't even a good Naval Commander as is portrayed. When the Allies were looking for a Supreme Commander South East Asia towards the end of the war he was the third or fourth choice, as nobody wanted it. Then his time as the last Viceroy of India doesn't even compare for his ineptitude in allowing the sub-continent to be divided as it was and the speed in which it was done resulting in the sectarian slaughter that followed. I would no-way put all that at his door, but he was the man in charge.

He was put in charge of the transition for India's independence from British rule after the war, and deliberately caused the conditions that resulted in the terrible deaths by the partition along religious lines, estimated beyond the million. The borders that he created are still in dispute to this day, he's likely laughing in his grave at the mayhem he created. He lived in Ireland full time because he was forced to by the British establishment exactly so, that he would not get his hands on the young British royals, physically and intellectually.

@patrickgleason20664 ай бұрын
Actually, that is a glib comment on an infinitely complex topic. The roots of that story go back all the way to the Mogul Empire. Part of the disaster that was India’s partition was caused by the sainted “Mahatma” himself. It was always going to be a bloody mess. What Modi and the BJP/ RRS are doing in India now (with destroying mosques etc.) could actually trigger a nuclear war. It’s at least as dangerous as any of the other crises in the world. Sorry for the bad news, sweet dreams!

It's a geo-political chessboard.
@ronaldhughes18104 ай бұрын
Actually there was nothing infinitely complex about it, he was told by many people that if he drew the borders along those lines there would be terrible consequences. He did it anyway and within 24 hours the Sikh communities attacked the Muslims forcing them to flee, those who didn't were brutally murdered. "Mahatma" did it id nonsense.
