I love coming back to fundamental things like this. Back to the basics, but they can be so soothing... it reinforces autonomic skills and allows free flowing experimentation with expression and so many other accents. This is the good, healthy, nourishing practice that makes for more robust playing down the road.

I have learned more from you ina month than i have in 35 years of owning a piano. Partly because I have spent more time on it, but only because you inspire me. Finding inversions is a GOLD MINE. I used to play chords only in the root position. Inversions make transition from chord to chord so much easier. AND... The different voicings of each position give music so much more color.

Thank you ! She's SOOO GOOD! LIKE LAWDY! Every time I come back for more I play with the lesson and usually after three passes I'm in there and the fact that it's instant satisfaction.. totally awesome. ADHD super teacher. Everyone else I get bored because the lessons are dragged out and filled with fluff.

Hello fried 🎼~ I made to the 1/2 point, (5:33) And i'm using both hands and three fingers with the treble. Or right, and two fingers on the bass, left, playing the full-octave; [AA - GG - CC - & - FF] This thing is a trip 🎹, and its a little tricky, playing broken chords, backwards ⚡plus - so far at (5:33) the student/me needs to be aware of 12, unique chord-structures, so i wrote them all out though we only play 8, of them. We need to know all 12, of the "inversions" relative to these 4, particular chords, to really understand it. But if you do 👁~ It's Awesome 👏~ I like it, its beautiful 😉~ Almost magical 🧙♂ Maybe one day if i keep working on it, i'll make it to the end. 🎹~ 🙇...

Aaa 🙈~ I made to (9:36) ... (0:31) seconds shy ☺~ It is the moment where you jump down two octaves - into the A-minor root position. 🙌~ I just have a little keyboard 🎹~ I only have 4-A's, ... & though the right-hand is fine🤚~ My left hand 🖐 only had one A-left on the board, ... and I wasn’t sure what to do 🤦♂~ . . . 😅lol Though i think 🤔 i am now. I'll just play what i can, then move to all 4 A's at end, the same way you do. 🙏~ I almost got it - perhaps i should practice it, 12 + 1, more times 😉~ . . . And just so you know - there are moments when i actually look 👀 and sound kinda like a piano player 🎹~ Go figure In fact. It is by far 🙇~ The most "elegant-thing" 🥇~ I have ever done ✅~ SO! Again-13 times

It’s a pitty that I can enjoy your talent only with free lessons, because as a retired employe I got no budget to dedicate it to pay for all the treasure you got. God bless you always, and I’ll follow you.. Thanks for all. Yo
@smc1377 Жыл бұрын
I don't think you NEED the paid lessons to be able to get there. They give you enough in the free lessons, it'll just take practicing and dedication. Eventually, you'll come to understand the patterns and inversions. I've never taken a paid lesson of any kind and only started learning a few years ago, but nothing in this video was new information as I had already figured this out myself independently. However, it confirmed my understanding of chord structure.

Hello, can someone please answer if i play the same chords with the left hand like the right hand is it wrong? Like i do not keep the bass, lC with the 1 finger and C with the 5 finger i play the normal C chord with the left hand also. I like how it sounds better i am just curious if its the wrong way of playing piano
@shaunreich Жыл бұрын
These are technically shell chords, right? Eg E,C(no G), Am(AC no E) Dropping the 3rd? Is it still considered that with these inversions

I feel like the whole "you dont have to know this" bit is a little much. You guys at pianote KNOW this stuff. And it benefits you.
