Vallejo make black and white in transparent versions in their VMC line. Another option for black is to use an ink, Paynes Grey is nice if you want to shift into the blues for the shadows.

Painting black is the worst. Did I mention that I have the start of a Sisters army? My goal is to paint the armor black in the shadows and bring the tops up to blues and grays. Wish my luck. I am stuck in capes now. So. Many. Capes.

Great work! One of my favorite sculpts and you've definitely done it justice. For the face, was sunny skin tone the brightest tone you mixed in for highlights or did you use something further for the final highlights?
