My name is Brian Fitzgerald - I'm an Australian full time golf coach living in Melbourne and coaching at two venues. The Morack Public GC in Vermont South and the Lang Lang GC in beautiful South Gippsland (An hour and a quarter from Melbourne) where there are lot's of Kangaroos.
FAQ:
How long have you been a golf coach? I qualified as a full member of the Australian PGA back in 1985. Wow I don't feel that old.
Why do you make videos for KZbin? That is a great question and one I get asked a lot. I love helping people play better golf and people tell me I have a very unique coaching style that is very simple to understand. We really should do things simpler. I just make them to help people and if people like my videos they can either come for a golf lesson in person or if that is not possible you could join my membership program and I can then view your golf swing or any part of your game and really help improve what you do.
Do you always change some ones golf swing? To be perfectly honest I try not to. If I do try to change some ones golf swing I have to have a pretty good reason for doing so and the client has to be fully engaged and committed to both regular coaching and practice in order to make that change. Most people say they will do both with good intentions but most fall away pretty quickly.
So my preference is to change things that will improve their score easily. There are so many different ways to do this.
What do you film with? - I have a few few different cameras I use. An old GoPro Hero 4, an iPhone 6 and iPhone X, A Sony ZV1 and an old Panasonic Handy cam (I'm using that less and less now). I record my sound on an old iPhone 4.
What do you edit with? - About a year ago I switched to Adobe Premiere - prior to that it was Pinnacle Studio
Do you make money off KZbin? - Yes.It took me over 100 videos to make my first total $100 off adsense and then another 50 videos to make my next $100. I think it will slowly change, but VERY slowly.
I really enjoy your videos, how can I support you? - Here's my ko-fi where you can buy me a coffee, beer or a burger should you wish (kind of like giving me a tip via : ko-fi.com/theg...
Thanks for watching!
Brian

Thanks David. I always appreciate your feed back. Your fantastic improvement in the past 12 months has been you getting your hands dirty and practicing the elements that matter. Not just blazing away at the range trying to get your golf swing to repeat. It has been a pleasure watching your handicap get lower. It has not bottomed out yet. Keep at it. Brian

Another excellent demonstration and explanation Brian on creating a "true ball roll" when putting! It is very important to have a square putter face at impact and I for one do not take enough time, especially on short putts, to verity this. Thus, my putt will go one way or the other. Your suggestion on how a slicing stroke will also affect the role is very important to know as well! If the golfer sees the ball rolling end over end toward the hole, he has put a good stroke on the ball.

Thanks John. Since I made this video Callaway have put out the Triple Track golf ball which I use all the time for training and coaching my students. They are brilliant for providing you with feed back on your putter face at impact. The ball either rolls truly or it doesn't. It's great to see you going through the putting videos. You may or may not know I filmed and indoor putting Training course in my kitchen during one of our lock downs. It has over 50 videos and has 2 hours of content all about putting and how to use a putting mat correctly at home. My premise was that most people get bored after 2 minutes of putting on a mat. So I set about coming up with as many drills and ways of training as well as explaining the putting mechanics. I think it is my best work yet. Oh and I do have a nice kitchen. many coffees were consumed in the making of this course. You can check it out at www.thegolfdoctor.com.au/ultimate-indoor-putting-course/

Great advice tonight Brian. Will be trying these indoors tomorrow whilst waiting for hurricane Dennis to calm down . First time that I have seen one of the greens looking like a lake with its own waterfall ! Like the colour coordinated attire, looks great on the vlog together with the tanned cyclists calf muscles Stay well Brian David

I saw that on the news last night David. I hope everything stays dry for you inside. I appreciate the fashion and calf critique. I will do what I can to uphold the standard for my future videos. I hope it stops raining soon and the sun and wind can come out and dry it out for you. It must be very frustrating not being able to get out. Fingers crossed for you. Brian

@@fitzygolfpro thanks we are fine so far and Dennis seems to be calming down. I did see that one town had its whole rainfall for February in one day! Our course was still open today but no buggies. Would have needed a canoe ! Stay well

Hi Brian I find on the short putts to your eye it is straight back and through just let happen,on longer putts you can see it arc,I feel you have to have a touch,which comes with practice.

Nice one Brian , are mallet putters better than blade putters for higher handicap players.??????
@fitzygolfpro
@fitzygolfpro 4 жыл бұрын
Thank you Ray. I appreciate your feed back. Mallet putters can be easier to line up so there is a benefit for all golfers there. Putters have evolved a lot over the past 10 years so mallet putters can now come to match all 3 stroke types. I think it is more important that your putter matches your stroke type than a particular style of putter suiting a handicap level. I hope that helps. Brian

Tee to green in 3 then 3putt if more practice on putting you can save more shots per round.

Oh yes indeed. If people just spent a little time practicing (even with a bad putting stroke) they would get so much better. Fifteen minutes 3 times a week (at home n the carpet) would work wonders for most people. Thanks for your in put. Brian.

Thanks for this tip. However, i have this over the top loop when i putt. It drives me crazy 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ lol
@fitzygolfpro
@fitzygolfpro 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching I am glad you enjoyed it. With regards to your loop in your stroke. When I see this it is usually because there is a change in the stroke from one hand to the other. What I mean by that is your right hand is taking the putter back and your left hand is bringing the putter through. Or vice versa. I usually deal with this by hitting about 20 putts with just your right hand from about 3 feet or 1 putter length. Then hit 20 putts with your left hand in the same way. From this you will work ut which hand s better for you and then place both hands on the club but let your preferred hand control your stroke. There could be other factors but without seeing you this is my best educated guess. Let me know how it goes. Brian

Hi Patricia. I think what you are referring to is subtitles. KZbin puts them in there automatically. You can turn them off by clicking the CC button on the right hand side at the bottom of your screen. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Brian
