@@sharon5026 Funny, I have the opposite feeling when I see videos about "over 60." Everything they say also applies to the 50s. Angie from Hot and Flashy just turned 60, and now all her videos are titled "over 60" as if her advice had changed, when in fact, it's still relevant to 50s, 60s, 70s. I felt suddenly excluded. Maybe they should say over "50, 60, 70." Like Nikol always does!

I’m 77. Growing up before blush was available to buy we HAD to use our lipstick as blush! I still do! Not only does it save money but my “look” is always coordinated Q🌹

I've tried this with brown lipliners but not brow pencils. Can't wait to see how this works. I connect my cupid's bow all the time. It's a great trick. I love your messaging here. I am 54 and honestly, I look pretty good. BUT, there is always that rabbit hole of intense criticism of myself waiting to swallow me up. I try to remind myself that what alternate would I prefer to aging? None. Then I try to remind myself of the blessings I have right at that moment. My health, my family, my fur babies, my son etc. I think it's easy to dwell on all the more negative things. As women I feel like we are often taught from birth not to "show off" which can translate to "only self deprecation is OK". We don't have to buy into that. We are beautiful at any age and it's OK to say so. ❤

In the age of social media I sit back and watch many "hacks" that I did on my own as a very young person in a hurry, short on funds, or b/c I forgot something in my bag. Some things, other than makeup, I learned from my parents who are long gone. Sometimes we do get stifled by our selves & need a deep breath to receive or get back to what we already know. You just brought back a lovely memory from the 1960s! I remember watching my mother take her lipstick and use it for blush. I always thought she looks so pretty and her lipstick and blush matched. Every time I watch your videos, I feel good about myself at age 69! I also get such a kick out of when you mention something like using lipstick for cheek color, because I started doing that occasionally when I was 22. My mom really hated that I did that, but I did it anyway. I’ve always loved trying new things with my makeup application and have actually been a half step ahead of an occasional trend over the years. When I was a little girl, I would draw and color in women’s faces and then apply makeup to them using crayons, pastels, or colored pencils. I really loved makeup then and still do now! My lips have started to get that white line thing. That is where I use my lip pencil. I've always had thin lips and now they are practically gone!! My brows are thinning and my hair is turning white (that I love) so I use a gray brow pencil. I recently ordered a lip color from Stylevana, and it ended up being a bit to warm for me, but boy! does it look great as a blush!

Hi Nikol! Thank you for this video. Good information. I'm 73 and I've been using lipstick, as blush, since high school. I love my cheeks and lips matching. I have extremely thin lips, always have been thin and I'm certainly going to try the Eyebrow pencil. I was taken aback, however, because darker shades usually are used to make areas look smaller (i.e., contouring the nose etc), lighter "highlights" bring out areas. I'll go ahead and try the eyebrow technique. I'm very curious and will be excited if I'm able to achieve fuller lips.

The liner creates a shadow so your lighter colored lips appear larger against that shadow. Does this help to explain how it works?

The Real techniques girls - Nic & Sam - showed that eyebrow pencil for lips some time ago, and yes, it works! Experimenting is fun - just recently I've decided that my skin actually looks better and fresher without a foundation (just concealer and Hourglass Ambient Light powder) and my eyes look younger with a lighter shadow, and lots of mascara. My hair is silver (with a very bluish cast) and a pop of pink blush is so flattering. It has certainly cut my makeup time down, as I have always been a full face girl!

A little tip if your skin is super fair and you want to use your lipstick as a blush without looking like a clown: mix in a bit of lipstick with your foundation on the back of your hand and then apply it on to your cheeks. This will make it truly flawless and very natural! I use the fairest foundation I have for that purpose because it doesn't alter the shade of the lipstick but rather makes it lighter/more pastel. I hope this works for you!

Great tip. 🌺 Mirren is a beauty. I love her hair. At 71, my upper lip is very thin. Brows-grey & sparse. It’s hard to find a good filler that works. To use the gel, you need brow hairs.
