I've been playing death metal with one pedal for 2 years now cause I don't have money. But I recently got a double pedal and it has been a struggle, my left leg just doesn't want to work and I didn't know the right settings for them but now I know more thank you🤘

Death metal with one pedal? So Mastodon lol
@jakobjakob7189Ай бұрын
If you have parts, that are easy for your right foot, i recommend to play them with your left only instead. That way it will over time catch up with your other foot in terms of actual practice time. You will also build muscle memory for that foot, for more complex double bass patterns later on.

@@jakobjakob7189 So true. I need to do this more myself.

Thanks Cameron, great to hear from you. Excellent advice as usual, you're a great teacher. More videos please, they are so helpful. Quick question, l have DW 9000 pedals, is the long board version easier to attain higher BPM? Thanks for your time and all you do for us drummers.
@CameronFleury2 жыл бұрын
They're both more than suitable to attain higher tempos with your feet. Have you picked up the double bass drumming mini course? There are plenty of exercises in there for you to implement into your regime. My gift to you: academy.cameronfleury.com

I just can't seem to have my legs used to play with only calves. I can't get to that "constant" beater swing. But found that by placing the beaters way back could be a good way to practice the swing without actually hiting the skin and store the muscle memory. What do you think?

I just bought an electornic drum set to learn drums. I never played before and i bought an alesis strata prime, because i hear it can translate well into an acoustic set if i ever get the chance. Since it uses real bass pedals, i bought double pass pedals and i dont know if its just better to have it closer since itll register the hit on my headphones anyways. But if its not what normal drummers do, with having the mallets closer on acoustic sets, do you recommend for someone learning druns the first time to have a heavy/bigger angle if thats what people usually have? I just use it out of the box
@devinphares2369Ай бұрын
What kind of pedal do you use? I also recently got a strata prime, and while I am a very experienced musician, I'm not a drummer and have never had a drumset before. But the pedal I have seems to have too much space between the between the beaters, so one is always just barely hitting the trigger strip in the kick drum. I've been trying to find a way to get around this, and haven't been having a lot of luck other than cranking the trigger sensetivity to max, but then the other pedal overpowers everything else. Seems like a really silly design flaw to have made the strip vertical instead of horizontal.

Hi cameron. Can gou the double with iron cobra? If you can do it, please share the pedal setting. Thank you

You know, I haven't! The technique may remain the same. Would definitely need to explore before sharing results.

I am looking to add some weight to my beaters. should I bother with weights like you have in this vid, are should I get a heavier beater like Danmar?
@CameronFleury2 жыл бұрын
The weights on the beater itself can be slid up or down. Placing them higher up will give you the feeling of a heavier beater throw. The choice is yours. I always recommend exploring to see what works best for you.

I've a question, do you use triggers for the sound? Just wondering. Like of the pedal is closer i guess you have less sound then when its further away. Unless i guess with a trigger to keep a sound.

I don’t understand how people can do the heel toe technique with half their foot hanging off the board… I’ve tried it SEVERAL TIMES and I can’t get a kick on the heel down stroke but if I put my foot on the whole board I can do it pretty good… I have the DW 9002 pedal. Maybe cause I don’t have the long board edition?!

my bass drum beater doesn’t hit flat on the batter head because of the riser increasing the distance between the pedal and the batter head . How can I fix this?
@CameronFleury Жыл бұрын
Make sure your bass drum is sitting flat. Have a look at your spurs and see if you can't lower them to straighten out the angle of the bass drum head. If not, you'll have to put something under the back of your pedal (near the heel block).
