Anna, I’ve been a longtime fan of your work and this is now one of my all-time favorites. I love how deeply you understand how to bring out the glow of watercolors. I know you probably feel like you have to make lots of different kinds of content to keep all your subscribers happy, but I for one could watch you do just macro flowers over and over. 💜

I have never rushed to watch an art tutorial as fast as I did for this. Just 10 hours ago I was going though KZbin to find a step by step tutorial for hyper realistic flowers and I came back to see my favorite botanical watercolorist drop the exact thing I was searching?! I'm so happy. I'm soaking all the info like a sponge and I'll try out asap. I also didn't know about the poor lightfastness of the opera pink! Thank you so much for this 💜

This was very helpful and beautiful to watch. I really appreciate how you showed examples of applying the same steps to other subjects like portraits and animals. Ive watched many watercolor artists on youtube whose art i like, each with their own preference of how to approach painting and layers, and I find myself gravitating to your methodology. It makes sense to me and is reassuring knowing one of the best watercolorists i know does it this way. Thank you for sharing.

I have done atr shows for years as a young person as I am not young any more.you are extremely thorough and portraits ..flowers..animals and heavens what else you get into and you are so thorough. You are beautiful..your hair is also and your voice is perfect..it all has a tendency to count whether we focus on such or not.my shows we're not one medium..water color oils pastels ink on parchment pastels etc so I have my favs and Amish pics with charcoal and pastel sold a lot as inks and flowers did plus nature scenes did also. That past is one of the reasons I really love your many interests and you have the most accurate. And complete way of explaining all and the way you finish a piece of work is the most fab....those portraits are outstanding..❤❤❤❤

Amazing video, so beautiful and enlightening, thank you! Do you have any advice what colours to use for painting a blue summer sky? I made a mistake by using ultramarine, the color was nice but maybe too granulating and the end result was patchy. I would like to add a nice blue to my palette. Or maybe the problem is my tehcnique?
@AnnaBucciarelli6 ай бұрын
I used to do the same thing until I realized I didn’t like how intense and granulating blue was for the sky 😊 I would try softer granulating cerulean or the classic Cobalt blue - most perfect for sunny blue skies. If you want to avoid granulation altogether then I would try very very diluted Phthalo Blue Red Shade 💙😊

Hi Anna, I have some questions about joining your patreon and the other one. I know the other one is a free month to start but I don't fully understand the difference between the two. Is the content the same on each? I looked at the pricing for the patreon. I'm not sure which to choose if I went with that one. I know I would really like access to spoken full tutorials with the sketch that I can print out. I'm not big on lives as I'm autistic and ADHD and often find it hard to sit through a live. I prefer being able to have access after. I'd also like to pay monthly. So, from that info, which would be better the patreon or the other and if it's the patreon, would the $16 one fit my needs best? I think $16 a month is very affordable. My next question, I currently have a small W&N palette, I also have the Koi palette, an inexpensive set of tubes from hobby lobby and a decent set of brushes. Would my paints be sufficient for the time being? I do realize that my results will be different but I won't be able to justify the cost to my husband till I produce results that warrant the more expensive paints. I realize I must learn the techniques. I've been searching for a watercolor teacher and I just have to say I love your subject matter, the colors you use and your calming voice. I'm so excited to get started.
@AnnaBucciarelli6 ай бұрын
Thank you for your message! Definitely would opt for PATREON - all my classes are pre-recorded and videos can be watched as many times as you want (I never teach live ). On tier 3 you would get access to my Skillshare classes as well. I am less sure about the supplies… I use quite a variety of pigments - many from Winsor & Newton. I think if you have some basic pigments from this brand, you want to invest in 2-3 more depending on which palette you prefer or which tutorial you want to explore. I would recommend investing into cotton paper above all else - not having cotton paper would prevent you from being able to apply multiple glazes. Brushes are least important aspect 😊 hope this makes sense! Enjoy 💕
@kaninajames96336 ай бұрын
@@AnnaBucciarelli wow.. thank you for that quick response. I do have cotton paper. I believe I saw you using the same one I have in one of your videos. Yes, it all makes perfect sense. Thank you again for the quick response! I'm super excited!

opera rose won't "maybe disapear" it WILL go away. opera pink is a mix with a fluorescent pigment, which disappear while not even being stared at lol. not all fugitive pigments are this bad, but opera is, and it will disappear soon.
