Quick tip fam, leave the background beat out past the intro, just leave silence where you're not playing what you're working on and just explaining what you're doing. The back and forth between the beat being worked on and the already finished beat that plays in-between takes is really confusing. Much love though man

Tip for hihat bounce, use effectrix on the hihat chain, block in some random small chunks of the reverse effect, set to 10-50% dry/wet depending on how you feel suits the song then chop the hats however you like

You should make your bass line before your kicks the first kick on the down step is fine but your bass line will dictate your kicks some what. I like to automate the pan for my hihats or use sound toys panman. Don’t forget ghost notes.
