Yep On the flip side, you can see the most attentive students check themselves even when an instruction is specifically delivered to another student

My Tai Chi master (one of the founders of the Taoist temple in Hong Kong) explained the very simple correct method of teaching the form. The 333 method: Show the students the correct form 3 times: then do it with them 3 times: then let them do it on their own 3 times. Then do the entire process over again after they have had a break, to assimilate what they have experienced. Do this 3 times. It works like magic, if the instructor is clear and focused on the steps using very simple language to guide the students through the correct structure and alignment of the form.

I've been practicing 7 years and I often forget to do this. Usually I find that I'm focusing on what I think is important, seeing the teacher's instruction as complementary somehow; or sometimes I do work with what the teacher says but on the next class he's talking about something else, so I go to that. There's so many nuances I think it's important to be patient and find a way to work them all in gradually... but always do what the teacher says and keep asking questions!

yes, teachers will present different angles on the same practice because there may be many elements at play that cannot be learnt at once.

@@ramzi_nabulsithe thing about learning taijiquan that makes it different to other boxing is you are only able to comprehend the level you can comprehend. What you think taiji is when you start is very different to what you know 10 years later, the same in another 10...infact it can feel like a totally different art, touching hands with you feels totally different to touching with Adam and then it feels totally different when I touch with a master with 60 years training. Other boxing styles are not like that, they are just better boxers over time but it still to the untrained looks like boxing, at no time does it look like magic....and let's be honest bro, taiji at the highest level looks like magic because magic is just an action you can't comprehend, WE know it's not magic but it certainly looks fake. Learning taijiquan is like building a skyscraper out of cigarette papers in the wind, they often blow away, you start again, sometimes forget and start again again before you manage to get enough stacked that the sheer weight makes it stable to build on. Respect and Metta bro. Wu

My own experience: sometimes different instructors give seemingly "conflicting" instructions (because they're looking at the student from different angles), and the student has to find the middle ground (and not over-correct). It helps to be clear about what the Purpose of the practice is :)

basically correct, but that advice need to be elaborate much further! please dve deer in learning theory and strategies, especially regarding the auditive, the visual and the kinesthetic learning types. then regard the time structure, the spatial dimensions and so on...... Many aspects are to be taken into concerns!

Most Taichi instructors don’t know the anything about Taiji Chuan , tai chi chuan , are you there for the health benefits? Spiritual aspects , Are you old , young , middle aged , healthy , fit , sedentary, what do you really want from your tai chi , u want to use it for fighting , self defence ? Have a clear picture why u want to do it . What is your understanding of health and fitness ..u want it for fighting self defence? Don’t be afraid to ask for . Realistic demo of . Basic hard applications, not the light airy fairy sensitivity nonsense that will take u years to develop, if at all ..health , unless your old , you still need push ups m running ,jogging , body weight and hold stance training. Taichi is much more than slow movements .. it’s , supreme ultimate fist , yin Yang boxing , prawn boxing . It’s called these things for a reason. There are some great books and videos that will give u a much better and deeper understanding of Taichi than may instructors every will . Yes going to class can be helpful ..

The deepness of song is scary. When I mastered the beginning I lost my mind for a while. All Informations in my body came back in my mind even my childhood. Somedays I felt near death. One day I felt even like a spirit power. I think the Internal is not for everybody

Be careful with qi going to the brain. Many bad things can happen and not much good.

What do you mean by mastering the beginning of Song? As I become more Song, I feel deeper physical elasticity and awareness. I also feel greater empathy. But I have not mastered Song. And, I am not able to send Qi to my brain. I am still on the level of refining Yi.

@@peterjeck2684 I am not interested in doing anything that causes me to “lose my Mind.” My teacher spoke of The Upper Tan Tien but said that we needed guidance of an experienced person when we deal in this realm. I am fine with enhanced energy, openness, self-awareness, empathy, and elasticity. I am not interested in fighting although I study application because applications are an important part of Taiji. In short, I think the internal arts should bring peace of Mind. Not bliss, but awareness and acceptance of one’s self, including our past, and an understanding of one’s place in the Plan. I wish you luck on your journey.

@@ramzi_nabulsi What you say is true in the general sense. But just as an example, maybe people don't show in obvious manner to care about corrections, maybe they just change it without all the hurry like they do in Japan, where they not only show that they correct the positions, but also show in any possible way that they are doing it. Of course I am not denying that exist also the ones who don't care. But from your sentence it seems that nobody cares. In some cases it is also true that some students, and this was my case, is that the instruction is not really relevant, or even misleading, because there are instructors who do so. And this is my experience. With them now, I wouldn't care what they say (well i am not in contact with them anymore), because they don't consider to resolve the problem with their instructions. Like for example, they could say, bring the elbow here, like curing the symptom, but not providing the aptitude which is behind the movement, which is even more criminal when it is in a private lesson, meant to create an instructor, where there are no secrets to defend. It is bigger than this, so please don't reply with the obvious. Try to understand that if I say so, there are deep reasons, of which here I write only some.
