Hi! I'm 62 and I'm going to start making pancakes for the week and keeping them in the fridge. I start my job at 6am. I need a quick breakfast. I'm a breakfast attendant at a local hotel. I mix pancake batter every day!!

The consistency of the batter determines the quality of the pancake.

Plays a huge role and some mixes are pickier than others.

Most pancake mix boxes are 2 lbs. So weigh out 60.4 grams and mix with 79 ml water and mix thoroughly. This should result in three great pancakes,made with kitchen food scale.

But how thick and how big in diameter?

If you accidentally dump too much water in then you can carefully pour some of the water back out while trying not to lose the mix. Or you can make thin pancakes. If you don’t like thin pancakes and you can’t get the water out then you’ll have to get more mix. Or you can add some cake mix if you have it to thicken it up. Or muffin mix. Basically any mix that’s made for baking. Cookie dough might even work but I haven’t tried it. Flour will work but if you have to add too much then there won’t be enough leavening to fluffen up the pancakes and they’ll be dense. A little cocoa powder could work too if you don’t need to add too much. Haven’t tried this but maybe if you let it sit in the sun it might evaporate enough of the water out and make it thicker, but I have no idea how those pancakes would turn out. Best is to add add water little by little and have so much pancake mix that you can’t run out. 👍🏽

Have you ever tasted Du-Par’s pancakes in Los Angeles and in Las Vegas ? It’s literally the best pancake you will ever eat in your life. Close 2nd is The Original Pantry pancakes in downtown LA. Just curious if you know how to make those :)

LMMFAO! By the time you're done mixing that and over beating your batter in a gargantuan way I could already have a dozen pancakes cooked and plated! Way over beating batter doesn't matter if it's homemade from a box. Buckwheat whole wheat or corn bread does not matter you don't over beat your better it makes for rubbery stretchy pancakes or waffles! Worst case scenario you can always follow the directions on the box!

I made pancakes every day for 1300 days in a row so I definitely got quick and efficient at it. And no one has to worry about over mixing if they’re doing it by hand. If using an electric mixer maybe. You can mix up pancake batter by hand for 15 seconds or 3 minutes and end up with the same pancake. Except for a pocket of flour if you don’t mix it enough.

Over mixing is a no-no for pancakes
@alexanderher76922 жыл бұрын
why
@dexho14572 жыл бұрын
@@alexanderher7692 basically you break up bubbles. This makes flatter pancakes
@PancakeGod2 жыл бұрын
I tested this in one of my videos. It has basically no effect when mixing by hand. I had to mix the batter for about 3 minutes before I could see it start to maybe make a difference when in reality you only mix for 30s to a minute
@dexho14572 жыл бұрын
@@PancakeGod interesting. Every single video i watched considers over-mixing a sin
@PancakeGod2 жыл бұрын
I’ve heard that too. There’s some others you can find actually testing it and found little, if any difference. Crazy how it gets parroted so much without reason

Hey so I made pancakes and I mixed it all together in the end and the batter instead of the batter being like a liquid formation it’s like a chunky formation, what can I do to fix it please help me because I just want to make pancakes
@PancakeGod4 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure what you mean exactly. Is it thick and chunky? If so I would add a little water and mix it thoroughly and repeat until it’s at the right consistency. Or maybe the batter is fairly runny but it’s still chunky in spots. If that’s the case then you may have added too much liquid. Make sure you mix it thoroughly to break up the clumps. If that still doesn’t work and it’s too runny then you will have to add more dry pancake mix. If it’s a good consistency but just has chunks in it you can always run it through a strainer to get the lumps out. Hope this helped! Let me know if you have any other questions

What to do if batter becomes so thin ?? Pls reply
@PancakeGod4 жыл бұрын
You’ll have to add more dry mix in. This is much easier to fix if you have premade pancake mix rather than a homemade recipe. In the future you want to be careful when adding the liquid to the dry mix. I suggest doing it little by little and mixing it as you go until you get your desired consistency
