Just got a garage baby 1 owner 2007 e93 335i for 13k this week, owner put less than 5k miles on it a year and maintained it at the bmw dealership. Every one of the techs at the bmw dealer had a n54 335 except one guy who had an x5 lol! If the people who work on them for a living all have a 335 I knew I was making a good choice. They were so helpful and happy that I was buying it. The head tech had a e93 making 600whp, was the coolest guy to talk to. I’m so excited to start my bmw ownership with an n54.

Just be sure to go with maintenance and upkeep 1st before performance. Also, there's a lot of knowledge you need to obtain before you go balls out with mods. It's a great platform as long as you know what you're doing. I picked up a 2011 e89 Z4 with an N54 for just under 20k with 20k miles on the ODO 4 years ago. I do a ton of research and I'm still learning something every single day, but I'm putting down 750whp reliably. I personally went with Speedtech's single turbo kit over the Docrace solely because the manifold is 10x better. The Docrace one is known to crack. Just a heads up!

Those connectors have been around for decades. I started using em in the 90s when they were all a cream color no matter the size. They used to be dirt cheap too. Now that the secret is out they are pricy!! Good vid.(unrelated) Just wish mhd would come out with an n63tu tune.

Sounds like blow by. Totally normal on N54s. I recommend installing a catch can.

Catch can as VV Stated. Upgrade your pcv valve. FTP sells billet one for 75$. You could replace it with oem one but just a future fail point eventually.

If you’re single turbo it can control MAC solenoid I believe. And it’ll allow you to expand in the future if you want to use E85 or Port Meth

@@RobertoDTK Well if you purchase a pressure sensor and run it through Reflex, it can serve as a safety net. Let's say your low pressure pump dips under a certain level, and it leans out, you can have it set up where the car goes into limp mode.

I plan to get the motiv reflex on my gen1 B58 w/ hopefully an EOS manifold w 750-850cc injectors(not sure whats the best so no things fuck up), PFS LPFP, and BM3 flex fuel kit. I'm on DAW v2.5 with the TU pump. Would this setup be the most proper way to do port injection without blowing up my motor just in case any failures occur? I definitely want to have a lot of fail safes put in place and also I am on the bm3 platform so im not sure if I should switch to MHD or ecu tek to have the best integration. Would love to hear your answer!

Reflex is best thing we've gotten on this platform. Personally I kept my electronic boost controller because I love changing boost on the fly. But if your car is a daily and you don't want to think about switching boost levels depending on your fuel or what not I can see that dme boost control feature being great for those type of people.

@@adambarrett5696 currently syvecs just isn't a need to do anymore. With the advancements in the n54 platform you've been seeing a lot more high powered n54s on stock DME. Honestly if you want to go standalone just go maxxecu delete the direct injection it's a way better route. But right now reflex on stock DME msd81 is more then enough for 900+

Have your front wheels /tires checked for perfect balance. I had same issue and found out one of my wheels was actually slightly bent on the inside which was a total surprise to me as they looked perfect on the face side

there is also a thing called the steering angle sensor inside the steering wheel that causes it to shake

I think he is using the mhd dashboard, as the motiv reflex has CAN BUS access that information is likely sent over to the mhd.

@@lionplanet3001 basically that code means 1 of two things either the canbus wiring is wrong or something with the reflex firmware my posi taps were not making contact or something so I tightened them that fixed the issue also the spring inside the wastegate is not 14psi you’ll need to change that if your only getting 5 or 6 psi of boost

People rarely do it , not that great honestly, leaving the direct injection is pretty convenient as it’s more fuel and more cylinder wall cooling.
