Kids on the internet have no idea what a "small" turbo is. They look at the huge turbos on drag cars and think that's normal. No, that's insanely huge. Even standard eBay T3/T4 turbos are huge compared to OEM, hahaha. That turbo there is a big boi and that is a pretty reasonably priced kit too!

Love the content! But bro, I'd highly recommend getting the 335d coolant tank! It bolts directly to the driver side like the 335i does on passenger side. Its basically a mirror opposite. Cleaner more OE look. And less chances of failure from vibration with the brackets. Thats what happened to my stock tank, started leaking after some miles with the relocation kit brackets. Then went with the 335d tank and never had any issues and did same upgrade to several customer cars as well. Can't wait to see what power it puts down on the dyno once its all dialed in!

Yea the top return line from a 335d, that goes to coolant tank, and then basically need to run two extended wires for the low coolant sensor from one side to the other, and the lower coolant hose needs to be extended and ran from passenger side to driver side new location of tank. And for clean fitment can get the brackets for power steering reservoir from 335d e90 also. Makes a clean factory look under the hood. But you need either VRSF or BMS has the charge pipe that clears the 335d coolant tank also.

Can’t wait to see the performance of the e90 when the turbo is dialed in. LSD is a must when putting that type of power down. M3 Suspension kit along with Hotchkiss swaybar. Steering will become much more crisp an accurate. Replace the voltage regulator alternator is not needed!!

This... My alternator failed and left me stranded, got the Bosch regulator from advanced auto parts for 42$ and fixed it in literally 30 mins, no need to remove alternator just remove the stock air box

This is such a good lower budget power kit. If you want to push 700+ horsepower reliably, however, get their top mount turbo kit. Although it's more expensive the build quality is better, cold airflow to a top mount turbo is better, and it is rated for higher horsepower in case you wanted to upgrade to a 6870 or another larger turbo.

I'd recommend a M18 aluminum valve cover. Doesn't crack like the OEM one and looks good + if you want to run some PR coils they have a nice mounting bracket for them. You should definetly consider them since they are cheaper than VTT valve covers

Maintenance first. What a legend. I'm tired of people throwing power at the N54 immediately and complaining they're unreliable. These are mostly 11-14+ year old cars and engines. They do require TLC. My 335i was a reliable car for quite some time since I purchased in 2014. However, before I threw turbos, PI, dual LPFP's, etc at the car I used the budget to cover everything. Walnut blast, water pump & tstat, radiator, expansion tank, coolant hoses, valve cover, oil filter housing, oil pan (all new parts not just gaskets), O2 sensors, belt & pulleys, complete suspension upgrade and overhaul. The list goes on. Rebuilt the budget a year or two later and then did the big power mods. These can be reliable cars it just takes a lot of time, effort, and/or money to get them there. Certainly not for everyone. However, if you're willing to do it right these cars can reliably hold 550-650+whp for a long time with few problems.

My turbos just blew, so good timing. BTW - you're wrong about the CSF radiators being for MT only - I have an auto N54, and I've been running the CSF radiator for more than five years. There's an auto part.

Heat rises, yes a turbo blanket will help. Anything to prevent heat on a BMW that will easily hit limp mode helps. And new motor mounts because of oil residue?

amazing how everyone sucks doc race's PP when speedtech has had their kits available for much longer AND they have a patent on their log cast manifold. Yes the silicone intake (mine is aluminum custom) could be improved but their o2 bung layout is better and everything else is pretty much the same. only so much you can do with bottom mount designs

First time I've heard anyone say external boost controller is easier to tune in combination with stock DME on an N54. I've heard it can be a bit tricky to get the DME to play nicely.

And manifold gaskets installed wrong. They sit in the head then the manifold slides in. The way it's done now crushes the gaskets and ruins them and the manifold doesn't seat against the head correctly. If you notice when stock oem installed turbos you pull off the gaskets are in good shape and look almost new and are in 1 piece.
