Haha! Not a "hidden" feature for those who read the manual :) Very interesting how infrequently this feature is explored. Simultaneous parameter changes, up or down, and by varying amounts is an amazing feature of the Triaxis!! Love this preamp to no end.

Thanks man, this was the final piece for my setup. Triaxis + Mesa 5 band eq + g major + Mesa 2:90 + fcb1010. After fixing the nasal sound of the dyn voice with the eq pedal, after removing the blanket effect by doing the presence trick, it now can scream or purr within the same preset. Awesome. Sounds so good and the mark 2c+ mode is pure gold.

I can't wait to try the Tri through my MK IV's loop so that I can get some of that 5 band GEQ magic.

I do still own my Triaxis. This was a lot of 'aha' moments: I remember how easy it was to use the midi functions. That is: once you know how to do it. Thanks for reminding; I am enjoying the Triaxis again, after a lot of modeling adventures. It turns out that I end up where I have started once. Asking myself why on earth I have ever left this machine (glad I have never sold it though😀).

I use this feature a lot too, so good! A Triaxis, 2:90, G Force, ART X15, Mesa 4x12... And you can make everything! :) Great video, thanks!

MIDI was such a game changer back in the early 90's for me. Instead of tap dancing on several pedals I could hit one switch and go from one extreme to the next.

I feel you - when i got my first ADA/Intellifex rig it was INCREDIBLE to go from a clean sound with chorus to a lead with delay. Still is TBH.

Hi Leon, what an awesome video man , so many thx for your Triaxis explanations. I thought I wouldn't use my Triaxis anymore because I didn't like the sound very much, but your video has changed that. What i like to add is, once i was on a site where they where shown to use a Boogie Five-Band Graphic Eq in the effect send an return. i bought one and it give you a little more boost. I also use the Boogie Five-Band Eq in the send and return of my Marshall JMP1 and its amazing how it specially works on the clean sounds. "something to try out." grts Marc

That is some cool stuff I've been doing that for years with my triaxis and 90/90 power amp and if you have a effects unit, you can control all at the same time, it's so much fun and sounds great.

Great vid leon. One great thing worth mentioning about the triaxis is how well it takes pedals. Running into mine i have a wampler ego compressor set with a tad extra gain and sustain and treble, a spar mini boost for just a bit of clean boost of about 5db, an xotic ac+, which i set either side slightly different for a bit more tone shaping and clipping, even both sides on is phenomenal, then an xotic bb+, this one is for extreme gain. My preferred combo is the ego and the right side of the ac+. Followed by the left side of the ac+ into to spark mini. All options are incredibly versatile and in my opinion make the triaxis feel alot more like the heads each channel is respectively emulating. Zero loss of tone, clarity and note definition. One thing to bear in mind when boosting into the triaxis though is to tweak gain settings on the unit a tad. The continuous control function works great in this regard also. If you want to punch on one or more of the pedals you can set the continuous control to reduce gain and tweak eq also. The options are limitless. It would be great to see you do a triaxis/boost vid also bud. Keep up the great work.

I've always enjoyed the fact the Tri sounds so much like a head (when paired with a good power amp) as opposed to sounding "preampy" for use of a better term. That sounds like a fun idea!

@@LeonTodd hey Leon, i just tried something in front of my triaxis that blew my mind. Its the fender level set buffer. It has plus or minus 12db boost or cut and a plus or minus high frequency boost or cut. Honestly can say with both controls at max i doubt I'll ever need another pedal to go in front of the tri. It also has a load capacitance switch which enhances even further. You have to give it a raz. And for only $140 its well worth it.

Such a cool feature. I am still a preset guy, as my MIDI controls lots more in the rack than the Triaxis only but if the setup is simple and emulates a "pedal" boost kinda platform with just a delay and chorus on the loop for example, this feature slays....
@LeonTodd3 жыл бұрын
yeah that's how I see it - set up a preset and then have a midi cc toggle or exp pedal for "just a bit more" when you want it.

@@LeonTodd Well...I am buying 2 expression pedals now :) Damn it!!! My 20U rack obviously misses this feature as well...Its funny how I have like 4-5 preamps in there, 2 power amps, a couple of switchers, pedals etc. and I use 1 tone 99% of the time :)

I haven’t noticed any switching lag or load time with these old MIDI preamps, they’re blink of an eye fast channel switchers. MIDI pedal boards have a spec they all adhered to, and follows the MIDI spec so CC# 4 & 11 for expression and the buttons were 70-79. Your AxeFX-III should be capable of sending MIDI to all 16 channels, so all your MIDI gear could be on its own channel and respond differently to each patch. The In/Out/Thru jacks allow you to chain them all together, and control it via one device. Expression control over preamp parameters is a nice feature, none of mine do it, but they load super fast so it’s usually a patch change, or switching between routes. Racks were badass. Pedalboards too.

The continuous control stuff for blending in time based effects is a really wonderful feature on devices that allow it. Your soundsculpture allows for a similar feature right?

I was wondering if you could do a video on send/receive sysex on the triaxis. I am using the roland um-one mk2 as the interface and midiox as the software. I cannot get it to dump. I follow the instructions from the manual and get the four flashes on the preset menu but nothing happens. When I try to load after pressing the shift load combo I still get nothing. Any help would be appreciated. Been all over the internet and it seems that you are one of the few who has the triaxis figured out. Thanks.
