If you could give me information on why that's the case I would appreciate it but for me personally I don't think he's that kind of person. I've read his book zero to one and dipped my toes into the lecture notes the book is based on and learned the basics of Rene Girard's philosophy and also listened to Peter Thiel's talks and I can confidently say that he's not the kind of person who wants to rule the world. He's a smart man without a doubt which does make him enigmatic because most people wouldn't understand the calibre of his ideas, but I really don't get the vibe that he's trying to rule the world. In our society, we venerate those who make lots of money. The mythology is that they made their money by creating good and useful things, and that they'll use it doing good and useful things. The reality is that people often do unethical, antisocial and even inhumane things to amass great wealth, and they often do monstrous things with that wealth. I think this episode with the likes of Thiel, Trump, Musk, etc is just our withdrawal pains from capitalism. Sadly, well-regulated capitalism is still a useful thing for humanity, but we can't get past the neverending battle of what appropriate regulation should be. it's like trying to make anti-bank robbery laws with the bank robbers sitting at the table, weighing in and down voting every potentially effective policy.

Wow, I knew only a little bit about Peter Thiel before watching this video but I really learned a lot more now. Peter’s a powerful mix of chess player, maths genius and technology master. I have heard about Peter before this broadcast, but did learn more details. We do need independent thinkers and entrepreneurs like Peter to thrive with focus to help country and humanity in general! So far his work has more positive impact compared to negative. I hope his mindset remains positive and constructive.
