The owner reported that when he was a wee lad on his parents' dairy farm, the neighboring dairy farms would get truckloads of expired grocery items like stale bread, dairy, and candy to recycle into their dairy cows. Substantial quantities of gummy bears, m&ms, skittles, and jelly beans were always in the mix. On one hand, it's keeping "edible" food from landfills but all those dyes and preservatives are ending up in even the greenest processed foods.

This is something I knew but enjoyed watching a deep dive into. I'm particularly passionate about avoiding kibble dog food- when I got my girl off kibble she lost 15 pounds withing a couple months and that was the only change. Her arthritis symptoms subsided and her coat got shiny and healthy. It was such a dramatic change so quickly it was jarring. It made me very suspicious- then I found out they owned so many vet clinics and everything made sense 😢

No, regulations are why monopolies and mega corporations are able to build up with minimal effort in the first place. For example, intellectual property puts innovation in control of the corporations. Intellectual property rights cannot be enforced without government oversight.

It can also be very cheap, feeding your dog doesnt have to be expemsive. Yall can make them whats called "dog slop" its basicly boiled meats like liver gizzards or lungs, rice, some grians, tortilla, or bread all combined into a stew with just a pinch of salt. Dogs love anything with lard aswell. Best part you can feed them only twice a day, once in the mouring and once at dinner time

On the product recalls, I believe this was a 'free advertising' move. They get their product named in prime time news, and of course, get portrayed as 'extremely responsible' by massive recalls. @@kosmique it’s important because if you’re putting together a documentary, short or long, the beginning of the story that’s based on facts, should give you a point in time everything begins.

@@damirzanne Nope, I’ve watched a lot of documentaries though, and when it’s something that has historical references, they always give you a point of reference from when the events begin. Love the fact you want to argue something that’s really common sense.
