Just additional info, I heard that the reason Android 19 was made was originally just for the sole purpose of transporting Dr. Gero's brain into Android 20's body. After that, he upgraded and weaponized 19 to make him more useful than just an organ transplant robot. One thing that's evident is 19 is NOT that skilled at combat. If you watch his fight with Goku, 19 takes a long time to actually nail a punch or kick; easily blocked or countered by Goku (or anyone for that matter) but of course the virus made that impossible. Just food for thought from a fellow DBZ thesaurus.

That makes sense, and maybe that's the reason why he obey Gero. He probably haven't the same kind of AI as the others, if he where to handle something so delicate as his creators brain, I don't he would have an AI written for combat. Ofc, once the transplant is finished Gero did probably updated that AI to be more fit for combat, but did not completely rewrite it.

I think one of the main reasons he wasn't was because they didn't really have any available female to "pair" him with to advance his role. It could be argued that he could've just hung out like Yamcha and Roshi.... but he's too strong of a character to do that. At the end of the day, I guess it was just decided he wouldn't fit.

Ich Thao Well like I said, I don't think Yamcha was relevant enough in the latter portion of the series for them to care about giving him a partner. Tien was supposed to be with Launch, but Toriyama forgot she existed. Namekians reproduce asexually, and by default are all male.... unless you were joking on that last one then YES PICCOLO IS THE RIGHT GUY!

cell also has traits present in some types of sea slug. some species such as the "blue dragon" can munch on jellyfish and when they do stinging cells start popping up on it's body. others can incorporate chlorophyll from algae into themselves or even absorb the dna from things that they eat.

Great video. This also gets me thinking what if Gero wait to unleash the Androids/Cyborgs? Assuming other threats came to earth they would only be stronger leading to some interesting plot twist. Cell would have even more genetic material thus having more potential to be stronger.

I think that it's very possible for Tao to have been enhanced by Dr. Gero due to the fact that Tao used to work for the RRA as a mercenary before going freelance. He could have crawled back to Dr. Gero for help after his defeat from Goku.

My favorite android was super 17. I know he's non-canon, but his introduction was flawless, his moveset and technique matched his personality and style perfectly, and they were completely consistant with the original android 17's personality. They even brought back the energy absorption. It was like a blast from the past

I'm not sure if the brain is the only organic part in Android 20 aka Dr. Gero as Bulma recognizes Android 20 as Dr. Gero on sight in the original manga, she knew what he looked like as a human. I also read in the manga that he programmed Android 19 to make an Android out of himself (Dr. Gero). Now I don't know if the cyborgs keep their original skin (Androids 17 & 18) but they do keep in human organic parts apparently (Android 18 & Krillin make a kid). It might be possible that Android 20 consists of more than just the good doctor's brain.

In the Dragon Ball Anime, when Goku first encounters Major Metallo, the android scans Goku, and in his optical display it states that Goku is an alien. Major Metallo knew Goku wasn't from Earth before anyone else.

I do not know if it is explicitly stated anywhere the exact process gero used to make cell but he is essentially a clone generated from the dna of the z fighters freiza and the insectiness probably comes from something like using insect dna or cells as a binder or catalyst for the combination of the different dnas for the growth process to be a success and namekian cells were added later when cell fought picilo

This is a bit of a long shot but in Dragon Ball there was an "android" that attacked Goku, Krillin and Bulma in the hidden pirate cave and it had the number 4 on it. So I was thinking that might be android 4.

If you think about it, android 8 and 16 had similarities in some way. Also in the Dragonball movie Path to Power android 8 is destroyed and puts Goku's power through the roof, and in the Cell Games the same thing happened with 16. I kinda have a feeling that there is a connection there somewhere. Maybe something to talk about sometime possibly.

There are a lot of different possibilities for making androids. They should make a fanfics where Dr. Noonien Soong or some other famous cyberneticist helps make an android. Even an android with Gallifreyan technology. That means Android 17 could have children as well. I would say Dr. Gero replaced more and more of his body until a brain and maybe some hidden biological components were left. When it comes to cybernetics it may be possible to biologically grow a machine as is the case with Cell.

Rob Morris most likely since 16 only cares about killing goku. which makes sense if goku killed gero's son. but we just never see it just like we never see gero in dragonball despite trunks and goku talking about him (which is the biggest plot hole in the series by the way)
