I love this Psalm. What I find interesting is that Hebrew poetry often used mirror images to say the same thing (that they state the same thing in a positive and a negative manner). What this brings to mind is that anything that is not musing on God and his Word day and night is not the way of the righteous. Anything else is the way of the wicked. And realizing this was written to other believers in God, it may serve as a reminder that simply doing religion without developing a relationship with God is also the way of the wicked. An interesting thought.

Devon Ellis, it is always suggested that u start by reading the book of St. John. The entire bible( old and new testament) points to Jesus' coming. The book of St. John gives us a clear understanding of who He is and His purpose.

It is important... Good luck on finding those individuals. Today, "men/women are lovers of self". Hard to find anyone who will stand with you. Folks are just concerned with finding a mate and satisfying self needs. When I look at Jesus' Life I see Him fellowshipping, and pouring into the lives of others not chasing for mates. Hey I hvaent read through all the comments to check and see if someone already bought this up sorry if they have. I enjoy watching these videos, going to church and listening to the preacher, listening to biblical commentary, and engaging in biblical discussions. I dont "enjoy" reading period. I love my bible because it is NLT study bible with explanations but I still dont read it every day just on sundays along with the preacher or randomly to fact check you. I fact check every preacher. How do you feel about various ways to grow spiritually rather simply reading?

The "abundant life" is not about maximizing pleasure and minimizing pain in our lives. John 10:10 is a salvation passage. The abundant life is the life of God we have restored to us when we accept Jesus Christ as our savior. God doesn't "want to" prosper us in every way as if it something we have not yet received. God has prospered us by the giving of Himself in Christ. If you have "been given everything you need for a godly life (2 Peter 1:3)" and have been "blessed with every spiritual blessing in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 1:3)," what else do you need? The fact is that many Christians are expecting blessings of the flesh He never promised to give and missing out on the spiritual blessings He has already freely given to them by faith.

TheLHShowChannel i would say that you must realize God is not like us and in our flawed nature we don't understand God's character. ( a woman was raped in the Bible? Children were killed in the Bible?) So if i were you i would 1) pray to God. He already knows this is how you feel. Be open and honest. 2) i would research other resourceful apps or books or videos on God that sheds light on Who He is. Got Questions? app is a good place to start. 3) i would read several translations and commentaries so i can understand and learn. 4) i would pray more and ask the Holy Spirit to open up my understanding. 5) i would ask Jesus to squash darkness in my mind. Most likely it's our own sinful nature that the Scripture is pointing out in contrast to God's divine Nature.

I never said anything about not understanding God's character. I said: "what if I understand Him, BUT DISAGREE WITH HIM?". Sure, I understand that He does what He does because He likes to be worshiped and wants people to not sin, but what if I disagree with the idea of being a worshiper? your response looks like to me that you are not really open minded. Looks like you are really sure that you understand God. You said " What if I Understand him?", but according to me you misunderstand Him (or you may say also it is me who misunderstand him). This is why we need to pray first before reading the bible (did you do that?, unless I did that), ask God himself in your prior that you have the desire to really know him, his character ( do not only rely on your understanding).This is a problem of BELIEF ( what I mean is nobody except those who saw it , watched Jesus risen from the death.) We, Christian, believe through the scripture and through life experience and also me myself for ex through logic ( don't ask me to show you the logic behind the resurrection, this is not what I wanna say, but my entire faith on God the creator and his love through Jesus etc... there is a logic behind it). So if you are interested here is my response to your Q: the whole things -visible, invisible or else I don't know - has a creator ( assuming you agree on that), as a creator, God and only God, has the wisdom to do on what He created, nothing else has the wisdom or more knowledgeable that Him (that is logic number 1) on his stuff, He only know his desire and goal of what he's gonna do. So He created things with a goal ( do you blame Him on that ?) or according to you, what He should do ? creates things without any goal (does it make sens at all ? logic number 2 ). I don't know if you have kids ( why do you have them ?) what is your response if your kids ask you "why do you put us on earth Dad ? we don't like to be on earth !" or ask your parents why do they put you on earth ? In general case, parents want kid because they LOVE to have it. (the word LOVE is in capital here). Same thing for God when He creates us (LOVE). God is Love.That is God Character. Be careful, here I precise the good willing of married Man and Women to have kid (that's the same as God's willing to create us). The same as parents towards their kid, kids are FREE (FREE is in Capital here) to do what they want, however there are restriction, don't do that or this otherwise you have this or that. So the FREE will as you said is here, God gives as free will but we have to choose.Is there any other choice to be neutral for the kids ? God gives freedom on His creation, however there is restriction, there is a minimum rules otherwise it is not freedom anymore ,it becomes anarchy (logic number 3).

According to the Bible it is because you haven't put your faith in Christ. To those who are in Christ, the Word speaks life to them. To those who don't put their trust in Christ, the Word speaks death to them and they find it foolishness. Seek salvation in Jesus Christ before trying to understand what only God's people can understand. The Bible tells us that only those who have the Holy Spirit can discern the Word of God, and the Holy Spirit is given to believers in the Lord Jesus only.

Let's see, God doesn't listen to the prayers of sinners & we are all sinners. If we are of Christ then the desires of the flesh are gone, we are dead to sin. So if we sin then we are not filled with the spirit & not one of God's chosen or elect. Reading all this in the Bible really just confuses the heck out of me. It's all in there. Makes me wonder what really is the point of trying? Trying to do what God wants & failing miserably day in & day out. Knowing that sin separates you from Him. Does he expect perfection? If so, perfect people don't need a Messiah to be saved. Confusing & disheartening. Yet I keep on trying for some reason.

That's the beauty of the Gospel of Jesus Christ! The law couldn't save us because we couldn't keep it! That's why Jesus died for us! He took the punishment for us! His sacrifice was sufficient. We either believe that Jesus paid the price or we don't. That is the only foundation we can build our hope on. Even Jesus told His disciples they would fail Him, but said do not fear because HE has overcome the world. The Bible says that those who overcome are those who trust HIM! We can't do it, but He promised to finish what He started in us. If He authorized your salvation, He promised to finish it! It says that believers do not have any confidence in their own flesh. We know that only by His Holy Spirit can we be acceptable to Him. The Bible says the Holy Spirit is the seal of the promise. Once sealed, nobody can unseal you! In the Old Testament, even the king couldn't reverse what he sealed!

Good morning, first of all, the scripture you used highlight what the Bible teaches about how to experience YHVH's favor is one of many that is absolutely correct; however, like most New Testament Church Theist, you have manipulated what the scriptures say to support a false doctrine that teaches the law is done away with. You completely avoided talking about the word that is used and replaced it with a word that is not present in any legitimate translation. The word used in verse 2 is not 'Word' as in Word of YHVH or as what many understand the Word of YHVH to be, the Bible. The word that is used, that you even read yourself, is 'law' or more accurately, Torah H8451 (Which can be properly defined as instructions). Instead of explaining to people exactly what the scripture says, you are telling them that they need to read and study YHVH's word. Although, that is true, that is not what this verse is saying. Many Atheist and others who oppose YHVH read and study YHVH"s Word in order to develop a defense against what true followers of Yeshua believe. Does that mean they will receive YHVH"s favor? Absolutely not! If you truly want to experience YHVH's favor, then your desire must be to walk in obedience to His Instructions (Torah). As Psalm 128:1 says, How happy is everyone who fears Addonai, who lives by his ways. Additionally, the world 'delight' does not simply mean to have enjoyment. From a western perspective one can infer the meaning of delight to mean pleasure or enjoyment; however, according to word used in the scripture, Delight or Chephets (H2656) is more accurately understood as 'a strong desire' which one can easily arrive at when read within the context. Therefore, these verses can be understood to say, a person who receives YHVH's favor is one who desires to, and follows His instructions (Torah), which is rooted in the desire to please YHVH which is accomplished by reading and studying YHVH's instructions (Torah), in order to be better prepared to follow them. After all, a person cannot follow YHVH's instructions (Torah), if he/she does not know what they are. I am presenting this response with sincerity and out of love, that you may come to reject the distortion of scripture derived from false doctrines and cling to what the Word of YHVH actually says.
