i would also add in saving ort and ral runes for repairing weapons and armors in cube, espicially charge items as they are quite expensive to repair

Would be so nice if they have something like hold a key to remove stuff from cube to you inventory if space allows.

Are equipped (or charms) items still able to help reach a str/dex requisite ? (seing the red equipment when you reset your stats made me remember this) As in : I need 100 strenght but only got 45 base and I get 55 from equipment. Then I un-equip an item with a str bonus but re-equip another item with enough bonus to be able to reach the 100 str req... I have trouble explaining myself but you're a pro I know you'll get it :P Once again thanks for bringing us all this good infos. I didn't know about the potion timer extension (endurance, antidote) and /pickup

Charms will allow you to equip the items you need, but once you take an item off that has +stats, you'll lose the bonus it provides and you won't be able to equip the next item you want. If you do manage to use Jewelry as a stat source, that will help to equip your heavier items. But beware, if you remove that jewelry item or charms that provide the stats necessary to wear your gear AND die, you'll only be able to pick up pieces of your body. Unless your inventory is empty. You also risk losing the items on your partially picked up body if you leave the game

pretty much what Yumums said, and not sure if the visual oddities will carry over into d2r, but there are some visual oddities by equipping items that you don't have the stats for - though you won't notice them in single player.

Hi, I've been trying to play diablo 2 lod with no d2se or plugy, just in single player, and never finished the game after normal.. I'm using 1.14d.. And I want to learn some other notable single player tips.. im a big fan of fast hitting characters, so im into tiger assassin, zealots, and frenzy barbs.. more of general tips for melee single player characters.. will appreciate anyone would reply here.. 😊

generally melee characters are going to be harder the further you go in without higher end equipment (usually), with attack rating being a limiting factor for most of them. for zealots especially, going for extra dexterity to get max-block can help on both these fronts since it will boost base attack rating as well. That said, my general recommendation for any melee character is to focus on attacking faster, getting crushing blow from equipment, and other bonus damage effects like deadly strike, bleed, and poison can be especially useful. It can be a bit tricky to get these without grinding though unfortunately. The other big tip for melee characters is, since you will be taking a lot of hits - resists are vitally important, you want to do your best to max them out whenever possible to boost your survivability. There really isn't a lot of good advice that can apply to all of them, since they have different skill tools (Assassin with Fade and Dragon Talon being popular, Paladin with Zeal, fanaticism, and holy shield, and frenzy barbs with natural resists, frenzy, and warcry, battlecry, or howl - all get equipped and play a little differently)

I see, so technically I'm doing it right.. just focus on resistances, ias and fhr.. I always use stealth and malice runewords for starters coz its easy to find.. and transitioned it to lore and smoke rune words, im having decent progress in my barb and pal but my ass is a tiger claw build.. so im using bos instead of fade.. and i cant build smoke in normal.. If I can ask again, I would like to ask what is my mid game runewords to note for aside from duress for armor, for melee characters, especially for no shield units.. thanks again in advance.. 😁 its kinda frustrating to play single player and with limited and non shareable gears to my other characters hahaha..

I would wholly recommend GoMule for transferring between characters - it doesn't modify the game, and has built in protection against accidental duping (there's a remove duplicates button if it happens, and it actively tries to prevent it too). Black, despite the knockback, is a great weapon to make vs bosses (nice crushing blow) Treachery is good for the non-assassins (Bone and Rain aren't terrible armors either, but they're a bit expensive for what they do) Crescent Moon and Lawbringer are really solid weapons as well (Lawbringer is ladder only though, so you'd have to enable those to make it) Spirit Shield is actually pretty decent for paladin, even if going melee (Resists, FHR, +Skills), though you can't make it until hell difficulty for non-paladins (it's also a ladder runewod)

@@superbee3758 some people love plugy, but plugy would prevent compatibility with D2R without converting the saves, so generally I avoid it (and there's a 1.14 version of plugy too - it's a bit less buggy than it used to be). The only mod I do is activating ladder runewords with a txt file (or modified mpq - depending on install). As far as GoMule it's an external program that can be used to manage the inventories of characters like a giant stash, and due to how it's stored, if one part gets corrupted, you don't have to worry about losing all your items (unlike plugy stash corruption)

In diablo 2. The only builds viable for the rest of the game will be necromancers and paladins Other classes will have difficulties because you will need amplify damage bypass for melee builds or Infinity merc weapon in order to bypass elemental builds This is why hammerdins , bone nec and summoner necromancer will be the best. You will see 8 necromancers flock in one game during new game

I recommend against Summon Necros for starting players, they are 100% a trap - since fighting bosses will usually result in frustration for newbies. Most classes have phys immune bypasses readily available (barbarian can struggle with it, but even 1 point in berserk can work wonders) As far as elemental immunities - Lower Resist Wands are super easy to shop for and can break low elemental resists - infinity is better, true, but yea they both work reasonably well :) (the only class that has serious struggles with low end equipment is going to be the Barbarian - every other class does have a solution - charged strike, bone spear, hurricane/tornado, death sentry, blessed hammers, and a ton of sorc combos, are hell-worthy even with terrible gear)

I would agree with you on the summoner necro. It's quite + skill and item dependent, maybe not as much as the endgame light sorceress, still you need a bunch of aura stacking on him.

lol, yea, the Mercenary AI isn't always the best - they also have the joyful tendency to bait enemies in from every corner of the map after a tough fight ;)
