I just saw this video for the first time. The hair stood up on my arms. I have been a Seeker fan my whole life and now, at 58, i have their CD called "The Very Best of the Seekers". I think this is one of the most powerful songs I have ever heard. The Seekers still have that magic. Judith is magnificent. I love Australia.

Absolute confirmation from Hungary. My teenager ears captured the original Seekers tunes during the 60's. May sounds a shame: I learnt Judit's name only 43 years later, nowadays. It is an evidence, meanwhile fighting with the music explosion (bands, styles, streams, ...), her greatest songs have become clear records in my memory. Her voice and character is unique. As for a late newcomer, it's been a huge joy to meet them again. We, the fan audience can feel wealth being around them!

No contempt felt, Goldeneye. Just some frustration with us, that is often well-founded at times. Sibling rivalry is good; it keeps the family in line! This wonderful song by Bruce Woodley reminds me how much Australia and America have in commmon, with settlement, frontier expansion, gold rushes, etc. We have the charming little differences of course, that give us each our national identities. Many thanks to Australia for sharing the Seekers with us.

Great people, great country, and one of America's closest Allies. They are always there when we need their support. My father fought through the Pacific in WWII. Their home port was Melbourne and the people teat here treated the Yanks like brothers. They welcome the soldiers and sailors into their homes to help make them feel at home. Thanks to all in Australia for their friendship and for Bruce and his partner writing this great song of Australia.

So much history in these few stanzas. Such beauty in the music. And the voices... pure Aussie heaven! Thank you Australia for the boys, and thank you for Judith. I am impressed with the song as it endorses unity; "we are many, yet we are one" which echoes an American slogan of "United we stand, divided we fall". In the 60's, as a child growing up in Detroit ( Michigan, USA ) , my first exposure to Aussie culture was learning to singing all the words to " Waltzing Matilda " in grade school . Which if you ask many Americans, they will say the same thing. We had " Tie me kangaroo down " ( in later years ) and the "Kookaburra sits on the old gum tree " we learned in music class . My next exposure to Aussie culture was something I saw in 1979 when I was flipping through the channels and happened upon the organised mayhem that was Aussie Rules Football. It took me all of 5 seconds to get hooked, and here in 2016, I still watch every chance I can pick up a satellite match. I've learned many other things over the years, I even had a friend declare me an honourary Aussie because I had learned enough about your wonderful people and culture. I live in Great Britain now, but 1 thing's the same, these people, their game, and their culture will always be welcome in my heart.

I live in Brisbane, and although I am not in any danger from the floods, my work is surrounded by flood waters, and the community I love where I work is under siege. This song sends chills up my spine every time I hear it. It was only a few days we were mobilising to assist with disaster relief in north and central queensland, and now we are the disaster ourselves. My thoughts go out to all of those effected by the flood, all those missing friends and loved ones, and those who just don't know.
