Love it when games break from the "main character is the all-arounder and/or beginner-friendly character" trope. We need more of that

Very convenient you cover both Sakura Wars and Virtua Fighter lore during a time when I'm becoming a fan of both franchises lol

Interesting to mention about the anime adaptation, is that the second season [The Onimaru saga] Akira becomes a lot more serious kinda pretty similar to how the games portrays him. Overall, all the characters in S2 becomes a lot more important and acts more like the games. Kagemaru specially, who is the main character of that saga.

Gotta give Virtua Fighter some credit. A lot of fighting games wouldn’t make the face of their series such an advance character. But I suppose that makes him all the more better once mastered… 🤔

My first exposure to Virtua Fighter was Jacky Bryant and Akira Yuki as playable characters in Sonic & Sega All Stars Racing for Wii and DS.

I won’t lie, I’d actually love to learn Bajiquan kung-fu! Particularly, the Tetsuzanko move! 🤩👍🏾

I've practiced Bajiquan for about 7 years now and I can tell you that the majority of his moves are actual Bajiquan techniques. (I've studied/practiced Wu Family Bajiquan (descended from Wu Zhong) and Wutan Bajiquan (descended from Li Shuwen)) The only one that isn't a real technique is the Hogeki Ensin Sokoshou which is a signature combo for Akira
