Very clear! Thank you for these distinctions. I love that you explain sign IN sign! You slow down when needed for beginning signers, but the speed of your explanation helps intermediate signers stretch a little :) Smartly done.

Thank you so much for this positive feedback, Michael! Sometimes viewers don't like that I explain in regular-paced ASL, but I'm so glad that you appreciate the opportunity to stretch your skills! Keep up the great work :)

This is exactly the style that's so easy to learn from, and rehearse, even nice and loud for us older folks.

I just love the way you sign, Meredith. I have coworkers who, for the life of me, I cannot understand. It's like their signing is blurry or sloppy, and I just cannot figure them out. Maybe because I am still new, but seriously, I can often figure out what YOU are saying. I always mute the voice-over and try to figure out what you're saying on my own. I do pretty well. But anyway, my point is, I, a beginner, can understand you because your signing is precise and clear. Edited to add: I can understand some of my coworkers but there are several who I just cannot. I didn't mean that I can't understand ANY of my coworkers. :-)

My pronouns are 'he/him/his'. I don't use reflexive pronouns. Please respect my pronouns.
@ASLMeredith2 жыл бұрын
Is this meant to be funny? Reflexive pronouns are part of the language and are used to refer to oneself. If you use he/him indexing pronouns in English, then you’d use “himself” in English. The great thing about ASL is that these pronouns aren’t gendered!!

Hi there! Thanks for your feedback. Please enable sound or captions to see that the first two minutes of this video is not a lesson - it recaps the skills learned in a different video that I linked above. The lesson on SELF begins after, and if that is too quick you can use KZbin’s video controls to make the video half-speed.
@robertwood70342 жыл бұрын
The voice over or captions will tell you exactly what she's saying. The playback speed will allow you to slow the speed. The actual lesson portion repeats the signs multiple times and slows it down for you. Where is the problem?
