I really pray that Mr. Smiley reads this. I became a foster parent at 22 and adopte 6 children( every child placed with me that became adoptable) over 20 years. All of my children are grown. Two of my kids dropped out of college their 3rd year of college at a major university and wanted me to pay for a hotel for them indefinitely. I had just had some major repairs done to my home and car and told them know but they were welcome to come home. 1 of then didn't talk to me fur 2 years and the other is still not talking to me 3 years later. My heart was broken until I watched one of your videos on entitlement. Thank you for sharing, my heart is healing.

Ricky I needed to hear this today. I am have 4 kids that my husband and I raised and raised well that refuses to talk to us and parents and a huge family that disowned in me for whatever reason. It's funny that I didn't think I was a person that felt entitled but I was feeling like why are they this way shouldn't they call or care about me. It's just lately I am convinced God has a plan for everyone and his plan for me was to remove negative people out of my life and that is what he did. This video is just added convincing that my kids felt entitlement for everything and myself feeling the same entitlement for respect from family but they owe me nothing and I don't owe them either. Thank you for these videos sound truth, is what we ALL need. God bless and keep you .

Thoroughly enjoyed this vid. I must add that what is wrong with this generation is their sense of entitlement includes deep ingratitude. When we are grateful we welcome the chance to return the love that was shown to us. We are not ENTITLED to expect anyone to do anything for us, care for us, love us. However, that is the proper EXPECTATION of those who raised, care for, and loved us in life. Jesus said we owe each other LOVE! That has been miserably lost on this generation.

What I learned in my adult life is reciprocity won't always happen. I would feel entitled for people to support me and do for me how I do for them. But as I grew older I learned God may not use the same person you helped to "give back" to you, he may use someone else. When you do and give, you do just that. People are not obligated to reciprocate and as long as you not feeling used or abused, continue to do for people as long as you desire to.
