i'm a photographer in a newspaper. i worked in a different media that tanevski did, but we get out info for the cases from him. we didnt have a journo in that town. i remember when the police gave a statement that they have a suspect and there was just silence from his media. that raised some eyebrows until we learned about him being the suspect and that he was in custody. and how does someone drown in bucket, we'll never know.

The thing about small, unassuming countries, is that mysteries like this can only happen within them. The closest thing I can think of that's similar in America is Epstein. And, you know, it's not quite a mystery, everyone knows he was murdered, it's just that the list of potential suspects is so long and contains so many powerful figures that you might as well assume they all collectively hired a hitman.

It’s kind of hard to follow some of the details due to the censorship you have to do if you’re just listening to the audio. If you’re open to some constructive criticism would KZbin still demonetize your video if you were to muffle the words and just blur out the text, or is this the only way to go to keep monetization with content like this?
@RemoHazard
@RemoHazard 10 ай бұрын
Definitely agree with it being somewhat difficult to follow what exactly is getting censored. I’m no youtuber, but I know youtube monetization rules are very strict this year & their automated detection system might not like the muffling so this might be the best we can get
@Lynxiro
@Lynxiro 10 ай бұрын
For a audio only viewer I also find this kinda hard to follow. I have to play fill the blank with words that would fit the context, if I do not happen to catch the first letter before it gets cut off. It's kinda silly if you can keep up monetization. Talking about straight up killing someone fine, but mentioning someone offing themselves or taking too many drugs is a not allowed.
@jakesanchard461
@jakesanchard461 10 ай бұрын
I guess it could be different for each person but I listen to these on the bus (audio only) and I could easily fill in the gaps based on part of the word still being heard contextually (died of a suspicious -------se)

I think writing the script in a way to accommodate it would work just as well, for example, rather than "Taneski's father died of a..... then his mother in 2002 took an accidental ov.....", it could be "Taneski's father commited ..... and passed away, followed by his mother in 2002 after accidentally taking too many pills and ....sing." It adds that extra context that lets you fill in the blanks yourself.

Gonna go ahead and agree as well with this. Other channels do it now and it can be real jarring in particular when they are reading off a list of "No No" words and because of the silence, it just takes you out of it or makes you question it there's a playback issue or such. There's got to be better ways to censor them (Not that they should be censored at all.... Fuck KZbin)

Was it too hard to look up a pronunciation guide or ask someone? Or put it in Google translate and have it play back to you? No one's asking for perfection but it comes off as disrespectful when you can't be bothered to research enough to pronounce the victims' names even approximately. Like you're forgetting that there are real people involved while looking up gruesome deaths. Gorica - go ree tsa Simjanoska - like seem ya no ska Ljubica Licoska - liu bee tsa lee tso ska Kičevo - kee cheh voh Any time you see a j, it's like a consonant y. That's why Skopje is scope-yeh, not scope-jeh In the vast majority of languages, a always makes the sound it does in father, e usually makes a sound like it does in bed or hey, i is almost always like ee in see, o is like caught or boat, u is like the oo in moon. C is a letter that's weird so each language has it's own rules, but in general it's like ours in French, Spanish, and Portuguese, makes a ch sound where ours makes an s in Italian and Romanian (and church Latin), is always k only in Irish and Scottish (and ancient Latin), and is generally ts in Eastern European languages, with č generally being ch.

Would you prefer he just not reported on anything that isn't English? The pronunciation shouldn't be the thing you're focusing on. I have a difficult to pronounce last name and I don't care when people get it wrong because it doesn't matter.
@tovarischkrasnyjeshi
@tovarischkrasnyjeshi 10 ай бұрын
@@luckytanuki5449 I mean if he can't put the research in for something he's supposed to be researching and putting together, yeah. It's not like he's reading your name off an attendance sheet or a badge the first time, this is something that should be part of his fact collecting stage, the same as finding out the people's life details and evidence in the case. If I can't trust him to get the names right why should I trust him to get details like marriages right? That also doesn't really matter when first meeting someone - but it colors details pertinent to a case like this. It didn't come up in this case, but if this kind of issue came up in a video of an East Slavic case or similar inattention to detail like that could even potentially obscure important information to a murder. Like it's the kind of thing that could obscure the relationships between hypothetical people named things like Ilja Aleksejevič, Pjotr Iljič, and Marija Iljinična, a especially if he was inconsistent about the pronunciation of the common names. It's also, again, a mark of respect. These people weren't murdered for your entertainment. Whenever there's a question of an innocent man in jail, he's not there to be gawked at. The reason people study these cases is to learn to prevent such things from reoccuring, to seek or reinforce proper justice, or to remember the victims as the human beings they were. It's the lattermost that matters - putting research into these people and trying to remember them in a way is like getting to know them. Sure you wouldn't fault someone who just met you for getting name wrong, and you'd never need exacting correctness, but wouldn't you be hurt if someone trying to act in your name couldn't even get an anglicized approximation of your name right? It's like if a friend never even tried to learn your name. Not asking anyone to bring out their best French R or pronounce tl or km or whatever at the beginning of a word, but even if your name were Ksenija I'm sure you'd be hurt if someone claiming to be honoring your memory called you kuh zinn dzha or something, when the English approximation you prefer is zen nee ya. So like, honestly, yeah. If he's just going to read me rewritten wikipedia articles I'd rather just be pointed to read the wikipedia articles.

@@tovarischkrasnyjeshi You wrote all that just for me not to read past the first section where you said how can you trust him to get the info right if he can't even get the name right. Because the name doesn't fucking matter. That's not the important part of the story. It's not like he spelled it wrong. There's a big difference between saying the name wrong because it's foreign and difficult to pronounce, and straight up getting the research facts wrong. If that is really what got your panties in a bunch, then yes he shouldn't make doc's on anything not English. Fuck all the interesting stories to make a video on in other parts of the world. Clearly it's not worth it if people like you are gonna get held up on a simple mispronunciation.

as Macedonian good work, except for the pronunciation. Macedonian language has accent rule - the accent in a word is on the third vowel, counting from the back of the word or if there is less then 3 vowels in a word, the accent is on the last vowel counting from the back of the word. And for Macedonian crimes, you can make 1 video / month for the rest of your life and still you won't cover them all. For some of them you will need assistance from the US Embassy in Skopje, because they only know the details of a specific crime

It's really f up and one of the most disgusting and disturbing things I've ever heard of. How can people be such inhuman? Really? What has the world come to? Demonetizing video for normal words like suicide or cancer? Oh, and the serial killer story was also a bit disturbing. Do you consider maybe uploading to alternate platforms like odyssey as well? Where you could speak on normal grown up topics freely?

It's a bit misleading focusing on "bruises" as though it was clearly suspicious. "The autopsy of Vlado Taneski’s body revealed death by drowning. His lungs were full of water. His head had remained submerged long after the loss of consciousness. There were no defensive injuries, no outward signs of violence, except for a small bruise on his forehead and the bridge of his nose-perhaps incurred during the initial stage of spasms." This video combined with reported evidence is implying he was killed without incurring anything other than minor injuries, and his cellmates with none. There are also multiple reports of people killing themselves in exactly the same manner, with zero suspicion of anyone else being involved. People are regularly very willing to accept bizarre actions when someone is the murderer, but highly unwilling when it's passive "unexciting" actions such as killing themselves. Not to mention he obviously wasn't a normal person with normal impulses. I'm certainly not saying it's impossible that someone else did it, but that there's almost always an audience-driven heavy bias towards the more "exciting" alternative, including in cases where the evidence is overwhelming.

I think Kira was just really stretching for the conspiracy theory angle to try and fill time for it, because he keeps going "BUT DID HE REALLY DO IT?!?!!?!???!?!!?" and "WAS HE MURDERED TO SILENCE THE FACT THAT HE KNEW THE TRUE KILLER?! DID THE REAL KILLER GET AWAY?!" when it's plainly-ass clear that he did the killings himself. His DNA was in the vaginas of all the victims, he knew details he should not have, and he had means, motives, and opportunity. Hell it turned out that no one could find any of the 'unnamed sources' that he used to tell him stuff that no one but the killer knew. The reason why the investigated ended is because it is illegal to investigate and try the dead in Macedonia. So no matter how rock-solid their evidence was, that was it, there was nothing more to do. I dunno, it's fine to report about this stuff, but to try and weave a conspiracy theory out of it seems irresponsible.

Why do you spoil such a bombshell twist in the video title instead of slowly building up to the reveal in the end? Would a video called "The Kicevo Monster" not make enough money or what?
@KiraTV1
@KiraTV1 9 ай бұрын
Because after making videos for 4 years I understand that twists very rarely work on the platform. This video didn't do well, because youtube don't like topics like this in the first place and unless your video is a true crime channel that has returning fans that click on all your true crime videos, you have to put the best foot forward in trying to get clicks, otherwise it's simply not worth making.
@AndreasGrech
@AndreasGrech 9 ай бұрын
@@KiraTV1 Many thanks for your reply, and I'm sorry to hear this video didn't do well because it's as fantastic as your other work. It's a shame that you have to resort to using a sub-title for the video name instead of the proper title of the documentary because I feel it cheapens an otherwise brilliant piece of work, but then again like you said, the videos have to still be worth the time invested in them for the whole venture to be worth it, and I guess that directly translates to clicks.
