I SAW THE GLORY OF GOD WHILE I WAS PRAYING TO JESUS ON MY KNEES. My heart of stone was changed to a heart of flesh. I give all honor and glory to GOD. I send love to all and pray that 🙏 the HOLY SPIRIT will change you. I'AM THE SALT OF THE EARTH AND THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD. Thank you JESUS.

Wonderful sermon on one of my favorite passages in the Bible. Being a light is a true life verse to live by. Thank you for this touching and important message.

I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. Today (July 7), Matthew 5:13-20 was the basis for our Sunday School Lesson of the Day. It was entitled "Jesus Teaches about Fulfilling the Law." The hymn, "Rise, O Church, like Christ Arisen," written by Susan Palo Cherwien, is a good hymn to compliment this Scripture, regardless of denomination.

Isaiah 13:10 “For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine.” 2 Peter 1:19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:

10:30 Church is not a place where people go to get encouraged, get fed, or be part of an institution? Doesn't being around like minded believers do precisely these things. There are always people at church who need salt and light and there are always people who are the salt and light. I wholeheartedly believe people absolutely do go to church to be encouraged and be fed.

Jared McDade Good question Depends on what a person's definition of "good works" is. For example: I can help someone jump start their car in the middle of the road and people around us can say that was an "good" thing to do. However, my good deed was done so people or even that person would say I myself did a good thing for just being another caring human being. The key word stated in Jesus's salt and light teaching reflects was follows: If we are now Christians, then every good work is done for the glory of God our father through Jesus Christ. What is the definition for "good" in the bible? More specifically: where does every good and perfect gift come from? I don't understand your second question
