In this video, we will explore the seven arch-demons who are believed by many to embody or personify the seven deadly sins. They are sometimes referred to as the seven princes of hell or the seven demon lords, as they are considered the worst and most powerful demons of Christian Mythology.
Each of them represents one of the Seven Deadly Sins and possesses a unique set of characteristics and influences that are the opposite of righteousness and virtue.
Using their deadly sins, they are said to lead people down a path of ruin and tempt and manipulate individuals into committing immoral or evil acts, impacting not only themselves but also those around them.
So, let's look at each demon's story, origin, characteristic and influence, and find out together why these demons have such bad reputation.
Note:
- This classification of demons is based on "The Lanterne of Light," a 15th-century work on demonology often attributed to John Wycliffe. It was one of the earliest works (published in 1409) to classify demons according to the seven deadly sins.
The Lanterne of Light is thought to have influenced later works on demonology, including Binsfeld's classification of the seven deadly sins, which is commonly used as a basis for depicting the seven princes of hell in modern fiction and literature.

I find it interesting that Asmodeus is considered an ancient demon even over Lucifer. Did Asmodeus join Lucifer after the fact? It sounds like he may not have been involved in the rebellion against god based on what you describe.

In various legends and religious texts, Asmodeus is primarily described as a major demon or evil spirit (sometimes a daemon or genie) rather than a fallen or rebellious angel. He was first mentioned in the Avesta, the holy book of Zoroastrianism, as the demon king of wrath, chaos, and destruction. Later, Asmodeus became associated with the sin of lust based on references found in the book of Tobit and the Testament of Solomon. Now, did he join Lucifer? Well, we need to understand that each of the 7 archdemons/princes of hell is considered to be a powerful demon in his own right. So you could say that they are 7 major evil forces rather than a group with a supreme leader. In fact, the association between Asmodeus and Lucifer or the idea of a hierarchy of demons in hell only appears in later literature, such as Dante's Inferno and Milton's Paradise Lost. Hope this answers your questions! :)
