Agree with everything (and Cid having dissociative psychosis or something similar actually makes a lot of sense). But he's *definitely* not lazy. The dude's literally always up to something, even when he was attending classes he was training. Part of the reason why he's always at the right place at the right time is because he had some random idea and moved his ass to put it in action.
