Shalom, Salaam, my name is Gadija and I'm a Muslim from Cape Town, I recently stumbled across your channel, doing research on how a Jewish Calender looks like, was being curious to see because 2 months ago was our Islamic New Year with a new calendar printed each year, anyway I am throughly enjoying your Shabbat recipes, we use similar spices, similar meat cuts, vegetables, I'm so excited to have a channel full of fresh, brand new recipes to try out for dinner each night, I'm also learning about your religion, the culture, traditions you uphold and sharing what I learn and see to my family, hope you don't mind, much appreciated, hope you have a blessed Shabbat , take care and keep well

I love watching.......until it comes to slicing on the mandolin...... I'm always freaking out that your going to get cut, but thankfully I haven't seen it yet, please use a guard....... 😁 You have a beautiful family that lives in a beautiful home. ❤ thank you for sharing.
@protocolofficer26293 жыл бұрын
I was going to say exactly the same thing. I have been cut severely by a mandolin because I was not using the guard which I always do now! Please use the guard. It only takes one time to severely cut yourself and we don’t want that to happen. Cheers from Colin.

Hi Sonya, wow what a feast! Everything looks delicious. How do you serve everything? Is it all on the table at one time, in courses or a buffet table?
@SonyasPrep4 жыл бұрын
The table is set with just the salads first. After my husband comes home we eat the challah and salads. I take out the fish. Then the appetizers followed by the main courses.

Kol Save is a house brand that many grocery stores in the US carry. It is made in Connecticut and I have seen it under several different names in many places in the US. Try non-walmart local grocers.

Hey Sonya. I really appreciate how much preparation goes in to the weekly Shabbat. Question- why so many different types of meats? And - do your kids give you a hard time about the dishes that you cook? When mine were young they all gave me a hard time about dinner- one didn’t like that dish- another hated that dish. Just curious. Thanks for the opportunity to watch you cook and follow your faith 😉

No, because each have their own natural flavors and textures. The seasoning is there just to enhance it, not mask it.
