It's funny that you lay out the Shadow archetype as something to adapt although that's not what Carl Jung said. He said the opposite. This entire "build your personality as a whole" stuff can by definition not account for the Shadow as the Shadow is what is per definition not in your personality. So when you meet a person with a nice personality he probably has a really bad shadow that is suppressed like the urge to commit a crime. So adapting the shadow is a stupid advice apart from the fact that it per definition can't work. If you try to adapt your shadow you will probably become a psychopath and criminal with a shadow that consists of now other things. "Becoming whole" is according to every psychoanalyst not possible because some traits are contradictory. You can't be nice and insults people, that's not how it works.
