The Shadow was a movie that came out in 1994, based on the popular pulp fiction character from the 1930s. The revival of The Shadow was supposed to spawn a major franchise, but the relative failure of the movie meant that this never materialized. The game was obviously part of that plan.

Eu tinha o VHS do filme tambem, e morria de medo! Cheguei a me emocionar aqui, lembro de jogar esse jogo na casa da minha vó, que já não está mais entre nós, quando eu e meu irmão levava nosso SNES para casa dela para passar a noite... Eu era muito apegado com minha vó e era o neto "favorito" dela. Eu e meu irmão, por circunstâncias da vida, brigamos depois de adultos, nos separamos e nunca mais nos falamos e nem nos vimos, ele foi embora pra outra cidade depois dessa briga que ja faz alguns anos... Considero isso minha cruz e uma das maiores dores que carrego comigo... Espero que ele esteja bem e que ele seja muito feliz na vida, onde quer que ele esteja e o que esteja fazendo, tenho certeza que ele vai vencer na vida... Meu conselho, é que vocês honrem e valorizem suas familias até o ultimo momento, lute e faça tudo por eles, sem esquecer de você, é claro! Not really, 2 hours isn't long at all and it's part of the challenge. If you lose or can't beat it, you try again later. Games were more precious commodities to kids back then, no one had massive backlogs to play.

This game was never released because the movie adaptation of The Shadow that this game was a tie-in to, was a commercial box office failure. To see it display on KZbin hopefully put the smiles on the faces of the UK Developers who may have ended up disappointed they didn't get to release this game since the movie bombed.

I had the SNES back in the days with a Pro Fighter 40 MB backup unit and many games but I couldn’t stop looking at the PC engine and Neogeo systems that were to me superior in many ways : I later purchased the Turbo GT had street Fighter 2’ and it was just amazing to be able to play street fighter in the bus ! A few years later I purchased the Sega Saturn that had far better Capcom Neogeo and other Arcade perfect games, I eventually found a real Neogeo Arcade machine and have a real hard time playing back on the snes that seems extremely limited nowadays. Only a few games such as Actraiser 2, donkey Kong country, yoshis island and zelda are still gold values...the rest is almost history

This game was unofficially released in cartridges, and I've seen it a lot in some Arcade shops to rent during 2000. just search "The shadow snes cartridge" and you'll see a lot of them :3

Why is there an increase in SNES Prototypes being release now? Not that I'm complaining, this is great! However, It makes me curious as to why it is that the SNES doesn't see many new indie developed game releases either? The most you see are homebrew games, but that's about it.

A new snes release would /have/ to be homebrewed as nintendo no longer manufactures cartridges or publishes snes games. I'm not sure why you're differentiating "indie" and "homebrew"

If you look at the indie scene for the Sega Genesis, there are many developers putting out new games for the console through kickstarter efforts and they get their own PCBs, carts, clamshell cases and booklets manufactured all without the help of Sega since they are no longer supporting the Genesis. The very same idea can apply to the SNES. See: Unholy Night SNES, one of the few indie releases for the SNES You know the rest about homebrew.

The SNES could technically handle more bad guys on the screen at one time without slow down, though people were too damn lazy to develop chip hardware to overcome the limitations of such things, and ditto for Nintendo itself. Also, Sega Genesis/Mega Drive type music could play on the SNES/NSFC as well, though, once again, programmers, as well as Nintendo, were too lazy to make that happen as well. I am serious, it is not that difficult, well, according to some people, anyway, to overcome those limitations and they have legitimately done so with their work, most notably with the aftermarket/custom MSU-1 chip, and possibly a few others as well.

@@paxhumana2015 I don't know, man, probably. But, I am telling you from experience, Sega Genesis/Megadrive games are faster and smoother 90% of the time, compared to their Snes versions. There's something really sluggish when you try to play an intense action game on the Snes. For example, a game like "Gunstar heroes", is unimaginable on the Snes.
