I go from start to finish how I made this Shaker-inspired 6 drawer dresser out of cherry with sliding dovetails, handcut half-blind dovetails, machine cut dovetails, and wide panel construction.

That was one of the most relaxing woodworking videos that I have ever watched (except for the part where you're hand cutting the dovetails, with the suspense and the music, I briefly thought about lighting some candles and pouring myself a glass of wine). My wife wants some new dressers for our room and I'm definitely going to show her this to see what she thinks. Thanks for the great walkthrough!

I am glad that you use the mask when oiling. When I was doing the deck, at first I did not use the mask and I got the symptoms of bronchitis from the smell of oil. Deck oil has a different composition of course. I got to know the cherry making a table for my son - it's amazing. I also have a cherry snare drum - it sounds great.

About to start on a set of dressers myself. Just finished a project that forced me to practice my hand cut dovetailing. Seeing your project has definitely motivated me to include these features in my project. Love your work by the way. I've been watching your videos on camera gear and it has been extremely helpful. There's plenty of content out there about how to film people, but less so about how to film woodworking.

Great Build. In my opinion, you are an artist...in wood and photography and words. What was my favorite part of the build? Yes. All of it. Especially like the use of poplar for filling in the mistaken dovetail. That, to me, makes a mistake into a beauty mark. And the 'nod to the sawyer' was a notable touch. Watching you work and listening you take us through the project made my day. Thank you for gifting us with your talents.

For me, equal to the quality of the build is the quality of the story of the build. Your narration is superb, and there’s very few who can compare. You show furniture making is a matter of delicacy and intelligence, and not a matter of how quick or hard you can hit a nail.

beautiful end result, no question about it. i was stoked to see you use sliding dovetails -- even though i'm a beginner at this, i have had 2 really good experiences using sliding dovetails on different projects, though in both projects they were hidden when finished. man it's so satisfying to feel the joints slide into place and have everything be square and flush! i'm hooked. great video and thanks for the inspiration!

Will, a most excellent and well done project. I really like your attention to detail including your video work. Some of my favorite videos on YT all share those factors. Like you, I’ve been a photographer all of my adult life and a wood hobbyist most of that same period of time. My larger shop tools are mostly Grizzly, the smaller power tools are mostly Bosch cordless with Lithium Ion. The camera is a Canon 5D Mk III and the lenses are all Canon EF. I’d sure like to see you put together some camera/photo tutorials. Keep thE projects coming.

Lovely work, and excellent videography!! Thanks a lot. I made a dresser like this in tiger maple a few years back, and it takes pride of place in our dining room. The only difference was I did mouldings round the top using dovetail keys, which was very fiddly (not Shaker really). I turned the pulls myself and had to do 3 times as many as I needed to find enough that matched!!

I was very impressed with the clampless glue up. That did not happen by accident and it's a testament to your ability to think through a project before creating any sawdust.
