Throughout the Second World War, there were a number of evil men who oversaw the concentration camp system. These men became the Commandants, and many at the end of the conflict like Rudolf Höss were executed for their crimes. But one man who was the Commandant of a labour camp or a labour factory was Adolf Wilhelms.
It is believed that Wilhelms who oversaw the Bayer Factory near to Lodz used prisoners from the Lodz ghetto to make brutal and barbaric chemicals that would be used in the concentration camps to kill. The factory he oversaw became known for it's brutality, but after the war Wilhelms was brought in front of a large crowd and he was shot and executed.

Perhaps the following occurred after the liberation of camps, was an effort made to destroy the buildings and structures comprising the camps? I could imagine former prisoners and internees angry and seeking vengeance to set out to burn and destroy their former prison. So too, Allied soldiers, disgusted by what they observed and discovered, setting out to wipe away the camp facilities.

There is nothing strange in the fact that the Militia (Police) used German weapons. The militia used for some time such weapons that were readily available. They also often had incomplete and randomly selected uniforms. As a sign of service, armbands with the inscription MO - Milicja Obywatelska (Citizens' Militia) were used. The war-torn country lacked everything. Besides, some, even many of the militiamen were partisans before and used the weapons they came with from partisan units.
