For those who don't understand Kevin, possessing a 4K, Japanese-made kitchen knife is not simply an act of acquisition, but rather a rite of culinary connoisseurship. To own such an instrument is to embrace the pinnacle of craftsmanship and precision, to imbue one's culinary creations with an unparalleled level of finesse and artistry. The Japanese, with their venerated tradition of blade-smithing and acute attention to detail, have elevated the kitchen knife to a level of sublime perfection. A 4K blade, with its stunningly sharp edge and unparalleled durability, is the epitome of this culinary mastery. It is not just a tool, but a conduit through which the culinary artist may express their virtuosity. To wield such a knife is to enter into a symphony of slicing and dicing, a symphony in which the chef is both composer and conductor. Each motion, each incision, is a note in the symphony, and the final dish, a masterpiece. In an age where mediocrity is all too often tolerated, owning a 4K, Japanese-made kitchen knife is a statement of one's commitment to excellence. It is an assertion of one's discerning palate, and an affirmation of one's uncompromising standards. In short, it is an embodiment of culinary refinement and a testament to one's impeccable taste.

@@joshuaschalesky It is with the utmost sincerity and reverence that I defend the acquisition of a $4,000 Japanese-made kitchen knife by Kevin O'Leary. To understand the gravity of such a purchase, one must first comprehend the cultural and historical significance of Japanese blade-smithing. The Japanese have long held a venerated tradition of crafting knives with precision and attention to detail. These knives are not mere tools, but rather, they are a reflection of the craftsman's dedication to their art. To own a Japanese-made knife is to possess a piece of culinary history, a tangible manifestation of the Japanese spirit of perfectionism and excellence. Furthermore, it is important to note that a kitchen knife is not simply a tool for the mundane task of slicing and dicing, but rather, it is an extension of the chef's creativity and skill. A chef's knife is the most essential tool in a kitchen, and to have the finest one is to have the finest tool. A $4,000 knife will be made of the best materials, with the sharpest edge, and the most durable construction. It will also be made with the most precise and meticulous craftsmanship, which is why it is worth the price. In the context of Kevin O'Leary's acquisition, it is clear that the purchase of this knife is a reflection of his commitment to excellence and his discerning palate. To invest in such a knife is not an act of frivolous indulgence, but rather, a testament to one's culinary ambition and an affirmation of one's uncompromising standards. In conclusion, a $4,000 Japanese-made kitchen knife is not simply a tool, but rather, it is a symbol of culinary refinement, cultural heritage, and a commitment to excellence. To possess such a knife is to embrace the pinnacle of craftsmanship and precision, and to imbue one's culinary creations with an unparalleled level of finesse and artistry.

The golden ticket is literally just Lori branding herself… she’s gonna become the iPhone of sharks since she’s gonna get so many deals but she’s gonna be seen as the “exclusive shark/higher end shark”
@a.w_.
@a.w_. Жыл бұрын
shark branding is: Lori: actual smart dealer, exclusivity. Mark: throw money at the situation and see what happens. Robert: "my parents were immigrants." Kevin: asshole, royalties, will try to buy you out of your companies. Daymond: "no." (can't speak for barbara or any others because I'm less familiar with them)

@@a.w_. Honestly that sounds about right. From what I've heard Barbara has the least amount of wealth of any of them so she consequently has the least amount of money to make deals with and also just kind of seems less concerned with branding herself as the other sharks so any deal she does get interested in is likely turned down because the pitcher opts to go with another shark with either deeper pockets like Mark or sharks that sell their brand better like Lori and occasionally Kevin.

When I saw that I was skeptical, cuz it seems like their only customers would be like restaurants or other places that have a lot of knives they use often and need to be sharpened, and they don’t have the time or equipment to do it in house? But also aren’t restaurants usually equipped with that stuff and chefs know how to sharpen knives? Because surely for personal home use, it’s just cheaper to buy a whetstone or that sharpening bar thing and watch a KZbin vid on how to sharpen than to pay and send your knives away every time right?
@Pnic1193

I worked on Amazon business acquisition, saw more than 1000 companies and went through 80 deals, and tbh with their sales and margins, the Bug Bite Thing business should be valued WAY MORE than what Lori or the others proposed. I think the business owners would prefer having a shark for 2 reasons: 1/ publicity, 2/ Lori is amazing for multiple reasons. But they wouldn't want diluting their shares too much. So despite Lori's deal not being the best in share price, this leaves the owners with more shares after the deal, which is I think better on a long term basis.
@codetaku
@codetaku Жыл бұрын
It does feel at this point like Lori's strong track record with identifying successful businesses to make deals with has made her surprisingly balanced with Mark Cuban's raw money and advertising potential. It's kind of twofold because the people who go on shark tank might see her as making businesses succeed, but also, anyone who *watches* shark tank probably wants to buy any product she makes a deal with since they all seem to turn out good. So it really is smart to make a deal with her. Also their business is doing so well that I don't think they mind giving Lori 10% lol, they became (deserved, since their product apparently is super fucking awesome) millionaires over it....

For anyone who wants to deal with mosquito bites, heat neutralizes the substance that causes the itch (at least that's what i think happens according to a search i did ages ago). You can use a the side of lighter flame for a brief second (the top will be hotter) if you don't care about the smell of singed hairs, a warm tea/coffee cup that is hot enough to warm you but not burn you also works, apply it to the bite for a little bit and it should cease being itchy if you've done it right. There are pen shaped things that you can buy online that literally just apply the right amount of heat but any kind of heat that doesn't replace the bite with a burn will be just as good.

I'd guess the necessary heat is just under what could cause a minor burn. knife sharpening services do already exist, it just works better in a commercial setting because those are consistent customers, normal people dont sharpen their knives at all., there is also much less risk in a commerical setting beause commercial applications will use a standard knife making them way easier to just replace if you accidentally break one. a homecook who is willing to pay for knife sharpening services as a home cook probably dont have an off the shelf knife you can buy in bulk. like the place i work at literally gets our knives from the sharpeners so if one breaks theyre literally buying one from their own suppliers at discount

Maybe you have done this on Twitch, and I am a simple YT frog, but I would for you to do a deep dive analysis of Shark Tank at some point. Really deep dive on the sharks, what types of products do the best on the show (during pitch and after), and just a general sum up of your thoughts. Think it would be really interesting

i have worked in a single kitchen with 8 chefs they all had shur or wushtof knife sets. they waited weeks with dull knives ( using disposable shop knives ) for the guy in a van to come by and sharpen their knives. if they advertise in food and culinary magazines they would kill it as long as they have an excellent reputation for a sharp longlasting edge.
