I sewed ‘modern’ stays from your 1805 pattern for everyday wear and used elastic cording. I just keep it laced and pull it on over my head. And I used cording in front instead of a busk (I have a small bust).

This is very helpful. Is there a list on the website of the standard lengths of lacing you use for your corsets? (Im not yet brave enough to take out the bunny ears and measure mine)

There isn't, but that's a good idea! The Regency stays are 6 yds, all later corsets are 8 yds.
