That’s the Shenandoah! Freezing when its cold and beautiful when it’s warm. I’ve been there in June and had to wear winter coat and hat. 🥶. Next time go through in middle of summer. Happy trails!! 🥾

My son’s and I hiked that segment of the AT last fall. Was a pretty dry section, water was hard to find outside of the camp sites. Also stopped by that lodge for lunch

Skyland is a GREAT refugee. After several days of cold, driving rain back about 10 years ago, I holed up in Skyland for the night and got warm, dry, and rested. Good choice Nahamsha! Hike on!

It can get cold at times in the Blue Ridge but the Alleghanys to the west are usually colder. Wow that room at Skyland was expensive I bet.

Normally I would make a rude comment about you not tenting but the SkyLand is awesome and I've stayed there as well during a short section hike. The dining area is cool in that on the wall are pictures from the 30's when it opened and you can see how people dressed. Pretty cool. Hope you get some shots of Mary's Rock coming up. Be safe

Hi Taylor...great job out there! I do have a question. As a Class of 2024 Thru-Hiker, I'm curious how often you run into computer access w/ internet service in the hostels, hotels and small towns? As an IT tech I have remote access to my gear at home, IF I can find other computers along the trail. The benefit of that kind of access is obvious to a hiker. Thanks and keep up the great vids! 😎✌👏
