I desperately want to return to Amonkhet! One thing I think would be awesome is to see Hazoret, who lost an arm during the hour of deviation, with a lazotep prosthetic! Along with the people of Innistrad, the citizens of Amonkhet are some of the toughest SOB’s in the entire multiverse.

Yeah! Me too! I want basri go back to the plain and see everything ruined and find that Oketra is dead. That would be so heartbreaking. Are the locust and the sacarab dead? Maybe the next hazoreth's mission is to return the sanity of his brainwashed brothers. :O

Not far behind Tarkir for my favorite plane, Amonkhet was more than I could have hoped for in an Egyptian plane. One if the few stories that left me truly bewildered in its emotion and desolation. My highlights are the death of Rhonas and Bontu. Rhonas fighting till his very end and Bontu selling out the world to Bolas really drove to home how tied they were to their associated aspects.
@TheLorebrarians2 жыл бұрын
Yes, it was a great plane and an emotional tale. I would love to see either a return or the plane pre-Bolas. Tarkir is a plane I want to cover soon

@@TheLorebrarians I would love to see how the survivors have handled their new world, especially with Hazoret trying her best to guide them. I feel like a Pre-Bolas set would be hollow. We don’t need to know(although it is definitely on my mind) because that is not the story of Amonkhet. It is about brutal survival. If anything, a return set could have the survivors learn pieces of the past through the many ruins, never knowing the full picture.

As much as I think the way Nicol Bolas was defeated was bs, I can't help but ignore that because of how hard he fucked over the people of Amonkhet. It's not even the devastation he caused, but how much they must have anticipated his return and their salvation only to be met with devastation that leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

I gotta say, Hour was maybe one of the best stories I've read from MTG in recent history. The absolute hopelessness of the average people experiencing the literal apocalypse (especially the one with the mom trying to save her baby...) along side Bolas's absolute lack of fucks in the situation just gave the whole story this frankly appropriately disgusting tint that I really hope they manage to recapture for the Phyrexians

Imagine if they made an episode where we followed a crop through all 5 trials. The trial of ambition could be so dramatically epic. 2 remaining Friends once helping each other in the trial of solidarity would have to see who will make the most ambitious of choices and would fight each other to the death for Final Glory.

Fun fact about the Nicol Bolas the Deceiver card is (at least in my opinion) the highest cost ability is actually the worst of the abilities on that card, whilst the first is the best, making it somewhat deceiving to the user.

We really need to come back here. Wizards can’t just let Nichola Bolas ravage such a great world of it’s culture and people and then leave it utterly desolate. Maybe the Gatewatch and Basri Ket should return and help find people outside the regions we’ve explored.

amonkhet was the most recent story when i got into magic. will always hold a special place in my heart. i think it was magic duels that had you play through the stories, right? I played the amonkhet story there and it captivated me like nothing else. Playing through the trials, having it peeled back piece by piece. wondering, as it all turned sour and deadly what could be worth all this? what prize awaits? the answer was as unsurprising as it was devastating. ten out of ten experience tbh. Also i read the story soon after and Samut is dearly beloved to me.

The thing I still don't get is how many cities or people outside the main city there are... there are references to caravans, from where and to where? There are references to people that live and survice outside, do they also worship Bolas, or were they not even aware of what was going on?

@@TheLorebrarians ye that's what I'm thinking too, as you see that, in the "alteration du cimetière"( sorry, I'm french, I wasn't able to find the english name of the card) he starts burying people(we see his shadow), and this goes along with the new "murder" card, where the description reads "the maestros were the first to fall".
