I love how "Let's Get Started!" is based on the 1917 US Field Artillery March (Sousa), or "Caissons Go Rolling Along" that was used also in WW2

You know what's funny? I can totally see this music being used in early American cartoons, too. lol Looney Tunes have often used similar types of music in their skits. A more modern take on this would be stuff that they used in supermarkets back in post-WWII US up until the 1970s-80s. There are a variety of machines used, but the most notable one that is now associated with the shopping music is the Seeburg 1000. There's a whole site just for preserving and streaming the music since most of the unique vinyls were lost due to them being destroyed as per company policy.

31:45 I don’t think much people understand how amazing this soundtrack really is; maybe because many have forgotten, newer players are starting this event or older players have stopped playing (if you are, I hope you play through the current limited map, I think you’ll really enjoy it) But I can tell you it really is such a nice gift to the loyal players. Like a gust of nostalgia quickly passing by, you’re hit with the leitmotif of Whispering Seabreeze/Sunshine Beach, one of the original soundtracks from the first Golden Apple Archipelago in 1.6. God, the first time I entered into the cave south of the 3.8 limited map, I had to take a moment of how grateful I was on embarking genshin’s journey throughout the years. Even the references to the 2.8 GAA going on those narrated quests really filled me with joy; from fischl’s domain, xinyan’s thorny island and those broken Inazuman ships that once told of Kazuha’s past, I really appreciate Mihoyo recalling past memories. With Fontaine almost here, I can gladly say I’m satisfied to move on again, and i’ll be looking forward to the next limited map 🥲

I thought the theme was really nice and atmospheric and sounded vaguely familiar, but i never would have guessed it shared a leitmotif with the GAA songs you linked. 1.6 and 2.8 were my favorite patches. the area was beautiful and the music really added to the experience. i'm not sure if 3.8 hits the same but i'm really beginning to warm up to it, partly because of all the songs they included in the mirage.

This years Summer Event is a delight and a big part of that is the wonderful soundtrack that comes along with it! Hoyomix has done it again! A lovely mix of tracks that make me feel like I'm in a magical wonderland but also at home. I love how they incorporated Sumeru themed tracks but also whimsical, jazzy and circus themed music!

Interesting enough, Afrasiab is one of the oldest cities in Asia, now known as Samarkand. It used to be a capital of a great Themurian Empire. Now the city is a part of Uzbekistan. So really, it doesn't have anything to do with Fontaine. Still very good song though.

00:31:45 Hit me so hard when I first heard it, because it incorporated notes from one of the past Golden Apple Archipelago's main sountracks, my favourite above all that always makes me cry whenever I hear it: Sunshine Beach. It reminds me of what summer means to me, spending days and days and beautiful, lonely summer evenings with the love of my life on the islands together, and that was all there was in the world. I even got a little music box with Sunshine Beach for my birthday last year, my partner had it specially made for me. It is summer and happiness and melancholic, beautiful nostalgia in a little box. And I will forever keep it with me, even after Genshin might one day disappear - I will still have that little moment and memory with me, always. When I took the Choo-Choo Cart down south, this beautiful cave was the last thing I expected. I expected yet another happy-go-lucky theme park area. The presence of the music in combination with the desolate depiction of a past long gone, as well as the melancholic beauty of mystery, overwhelmed me in its presence. I just stood there for a good 15 minutes, listening to the soundtrack and taking it all in. The cave was so reminiscent of the old Golden Apple Archipelago underwater mysteries as well, with hidden caves and old murals being core to the story of the first GAA. I'm so glad they incorporated this, as even the smallest bits of content referencing to the older updates will always strike a chord with at least one person who played it and treasured it forever.

I remember the first time im downloading genshin in 2021 so i can play with my friend, the first thing i got amazed with is the music.
