+Ana Esquivel I know that feeling all too well. Some times I dream shoegazey type tunes and they stick with me for *years*. The la la la's in this song touch me every time - when I first heard it I thought "where has this song been all my life?" and get teary eyed but feel it deep in my spirit as well. A lot of Shins does this to me as well as Queen, The Beatles, The Cardigans first album Emmerdale (check it out if you love The Shins like I do)...so so many. Glad to see you found your beloved song again and music touches you the way it does :3

I made that mechanical caterpillar! Wow, that was like 20 years ago in Portland. The outside body form was dryer tubing and spray foam sprayed with olive oil. The gears and whatnot were being cranked by a few guys behind it. I loved the creative freedom I had with this. I got into props work cause it was like arts and crafts meets puzzle solving. Using creative problem solving to make something fit into the scene. This one was the height of that.

Lyrics; After all these implements and texts designed by intellects So vexed to find evidently there's still so much that hides And though the saints dub us divine in ancient fading lines Their sentiment is just as hard to pluck from the vine I'll try hard not to pretend Allow myself no mock defense As I step into the night Since I don't have the time nor mind to figure out the nursery rhymes That helped us out in making sense of our lives The cruel, uneventful state of apathy releases me I value them but I won't cry every time one's wiped out I'll try hard not to give in Batten down to fare the wind Rid my head of this pretense Allow myself no mock defense As I step into the night But Mercy's eyes are blue when she places them in front of you Nothing holds a Roman candle to the solemn warmth you feel inside There's no measuring of it as nothing else is love I'll try hard not to give in Batten down to fare the wind Rid my head of this pretense Allow myself no mock defense As I step into the night Mercy's eyes are blue when she places them in front of you Nothing really holds a candle to the solemn warmth you feel inside you ✨

I appreciate that post because I could not think of the main Lyricist name. What a talent for speaking from the heart and the poetic terms of phrases he invented in a way that we don't usually hear. Hi, too, would love to meet -& than him as well. I think that they're all from NM. I just miss them playing in a small venue when I moved there from NJ. Suffice it to say missing a Shins concert in a small, intimate venue by a mere few weeks should have alerted me that things may not bode well for me in NM.
