It looks great! Do you have shop exhaust fans? A smoke eater like some bars and restaurants use? CO2 detectors, especially in the loft area? A fan in the wall that can supply fresh air? Everything is more sealed in the completed building, so safety will need to be even more important.
@metaspencer7 ай бұрын
I absolutely need a fan but did install a carbon monoxide/smoke detector which has gone off three times now -- always good to know when you're burning things :) I placed it up in the loft so it catches smoke pretty well. And I bought an exhaust fan to stick in the wall, just haven't installed it. Thanks for that encouragement!

Box Barn looks great Spencer! I used to cheap out on grinder wheels until I had one violently disintegrate in my face. Luckily I was wearing a face shield at the time but only because I couldn't find my safety glasses lol. Be safe and be well Spence!

This is so cool! Glad it's "done" - figuratively? We shall see. Excited to see the conglomeration video where the whole build is shown! Although I'm thinking there could be a .000329538 chance it might take two videos....... I missed your latest video so was giddy to find this one posted tonight! Hope you and yours are doing well. Glad no trees have twisted wrong or let loose a crazy branch. Keep on keepin' on, and I will hold my breath until the next one! 😂😂😂 Take care, Gina

Spencer, you may not be a builder, but you did it great. Did you have a design beforehand? What are the dimensions or the length between the containers? I'm inspired and planning on building one. Awesome!
@metaspencer4 ай бұрын
Thanks for that! I definitely had fun with the project and it's been a great space to have. No plan ahead of time -- just some napkin sketches. 27' between boxes and they're 40' long. 13' ceilings
@LarameyJohnson4 ай бұрын
My wife and I just began empty nesting, looking to downsize, (sell traditional house and some ground to escape debt) and build something like this on another piece of land to actually live in at least for a while. We are looking for something to pull RV inside of and live when cold and at home but still have a nice gathering area for kids and grandkids to come visit. What is the height of the pony wall you set on top of connex box? What did that give you for overall ceiling height and height of door you could use? What is overhead height both over and under the rear mezzanine. Love this, thanks for sharing,
@metaspencer4 ай бұрын
YOu're gonna love the building -- sounds like a cool transition you're' going through
@metaspencer4 ай бұрын
Pony walls are 4’ to accommodate single sheets of plywood… ceiling is 13’6” or so … mezzanine heights are about 6’ top and bottom so kinda short … we’re in the same stage in life so it’s a good time all around
