in telangana farmers used to grow jowar bajra and foxtail millet, rural telangana people ate those roti atleast once in a day. lately, due to lack of support from government for marketing the product farmers almost stopped growing millets. with recent popularisation of millets by Dr. khader millet farming started again

The impact of colonisation is so terrible at so many levels. It left a hole in our civilisation that was built over hundreds of years. Even the concept of "nautch girls" was introduced by the British. Courtesans held a place of pride and held key positions of power in distribution of wealth as per the Chengalpettu writings by early British ethnographers. It turned into sex trafficking and with it a whole loss of wisdom. Satyajit Ray's film on the Bengal famine speaks extensively about the man made famine caused due to disruption in traditional crop cultivation in the region. Soya cultivation brought in by the Americans is a similar story.

Mahua tree oil. Similarly there wee aquatic plant products comsumed in case of flood created food scracity. Indians had quite rich adaption to floods, dry patches etc. killed by montessori education.

Whatever he has mentioned is already documented in history. He has done a good job of articulating in a concise video. It is well documented that poppy was forced to be grown in bengal during british era, "sea of poppies" historical fiction is based on this. Also we are familiar that millets consume less water than rice and wheat. There was no famine in bengal before british era, so they should have had some crop to survive, typically a grain, one can extrapolate this as millets.
