But at this point COVD 19 is causing havoc pretty much on the entire world, so no country is safe from the virus except South Korea and Japan, Taiwan and Southeast Asia they seem to be doing better than US and Europe in handling the virus for now. So if I was someone not living in the US or Europe I will be interested in how people that live there are holding out because from what the world is seeing the US is not doing well especially now because other countries are closing their borders to Americans.

This documentary is very shallow and poorly researched, and the comments of those interviewed are extremely naive. For example: (1) Chinese are just as racist as White people [@JU94]; (2) Japanese car companies based in the United States repeatedly lost law suits for discriminating against Black UAW members and others [@t; and (3) as reported by the CIA Fact Book, the largest ethic groups in Japan are the Japanese at 98.1%, followed by Chinese at 0.5%, Korean at 0.4%, and all other ethnic groups (including Filipino, Vietnamese, and Brazilian) by 1%. Black people are blatantly insignificant in Japan and throughout Asia, and consequently, they are not perceived as a threat. However, "if" Black people (especially Black men) existed as a dominate demographic in business, sports, entertainment, etc., we can expect Japan (which supported racist Germany in WWII), China, etc., to do exactly like White people (@t.

I do suggest you to tell anyone you know that everyone outside of America that is black, comes from a totally different experience ( we all think the American culture towards black people is literally sociopathic!!!! ). I think you all should leave and go where you are accepted - period. there is safety, you can create it or go where your people is. Trust me, there is love from your people globally just not in America. Dont be afraid of leaving America, they literally make their nation think all you need is America. I am a Japanese high school student. This video felt very fresh. I think most Japanese people recognize whether they are Japanese or not. So it has nothing to do with blacks or whites. You may feel the line of sight. But that's because blacks are rare. Some people want to be black because of hip-hop and black culture. The prejudice against blacks is that they are tall, good at dancing & good at singing lol By the way, until now I couldn't understand the "black cultural appropriation problem". I really like nice hairstyles, dance and all kinds of black culture. But we Asians were skeptical that they couldn't imitate. "Blm" taught me a lot. In the West, I didn't know how hard I was feeling (I knew it, but I thought it was different now), so I was very shocked. If you think a black person is discriminated against by a Japanese person, please know that it is not malicious. (It's not malicious, but it's very sad to hurt my heart.) Japan has to change, but I think it will take some time. When the corona pandemic is over, please come visit us in Japan! ((I used Google Translate, so I'm sorry if it's a strange sentence))

You are a real human being so sweet and innocent a perfect creation of God so humane and loving please stay 🙏 ❤️ 💕 so loving because God is love. God in his infinite wisdom 🙏 created man in his own image 🙏 . Something happened when the Morning Star in the Bible sinned in thought and a war saw Michael and the angels kicked the Morning Star out of Heaven. The deviant turned into a super corrupted monster and snake, evil, deceitful and depraved. A war is being fought in the minds of humans. The enemy whispers depravity and inhumanity in the minds of men and their character, their soul becomes a reflection of the Monster. Satan wants man to join him and his demons when they are all locked in hell for eternity where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. The Word was in the begining and became man, He lived amongst men; but the world knew Him not. He came to atone for our sins, He was crucified and died to put to pay for the sins of man as Jesus was the son of man. He was in the tomb for three days, He rose again. 🌹 when rising he went down into hell and took the key and left as hell had no business with Him as He was without blame. Witnesses saw Jesus and that the stone had been moved. Believe that Jesus is real and chase all evil thoughts from your mind. Love God ❤️ 😍 He loves us. Believe that we can be free from all evil and that the flesh dies but our spirit and our soul live forever. God loves ❤️ 😍 you Hallelujah ❤️.

I took the plunge and moved to Vietnam for a year by myself. I had to come back to America and it seems impossible to explain to others WHY I don't want to stay here anymore. This video sums it up. Now I know I'm not crazy in feeling more peace, more freedom, more time in my days, better mental health, better pay, lower cost of living, new culture and experiences, cheap travel, I can go on.. I came to Japan 20 years ago from Congo-Brazzaville as a college student with a scholarship from the Japanese government. Now, I am married to a Japanese national and we have a daughter (the most intelligent toddler I have ever known). During the last 20 years, I have never been victimized by racism. My colleagues treat me with respect at work and my neighbors are wonderful. It's only when I travel to Western countries that I truly feel the ugliness of racism.

However, once they find nationality doesn't matter, they will definitely help you! Of course I'm willing to!! Japan is one of the safest countries. As a Japanese living in America, I feel the weight of the complexity of living as an Asian in America with everything that's happening. Add all the racist remarks that recently came out of some Asians (embarrassing) recently, I've been feeling depressed with the narratives of how Asians are pitted against Black people especially in America where there is systemic racism built on white supremacy. True, there's definitely colorism and anti-black racism amongst Asian cultures and these things need to be addressed within our communities (and usually these racist bigots usually have the loudest voices) but I would like to think that most Asian people embrace black people as worthy, brilliant, beautiful human beings that they are. I'm heartened to hear that these black people in Asia have felt free and safe as they should. Thank you for creating a bridge between cultures with this documentary!

Of course. America has a long history of race based profiling, police brutality and systemic discrimination. I’m sure Africa has ethnic tensions but it’s still based on one “black” ethnicity versus another “black” ethnicity

GG that sort of racism is surface level. we have it everywhere. in europe, asia, south america, etc. but the racism in america is historical. its oppressive and violent.

As an Asian american person, this was an interesting documentary. I’m also planning to move to Japan for work after graduating university, mainly because i find myself identifying more with the collectivist views in Japan. Asian countries and people are not free of racism, we can see this in the recent backlash Sam Okyere in South Korea received when he wanted to call out blackface. However, I feel that a lot of the acts of racism come from places of misunderstanding/lack of knowledge regarding the implications of certain statements or actions, not deeply rooted hate. Additionally, because of the public safety in these places, even if people had some prejudice towards black folks the chances of those sentiments manifesting into violence would be quite low.

Thank you for such a beautiful experience in this video. I was raised in europe for the first 14 yrs of life. Living in the U.S. entailed adopting the mindset that I am somehow less than lighter skinned people. It's self defeating trying to absorb the post slavery period of this country especially in the 21st century. I was raised to know that I am valuable. In the U.S. it is a challenge to live socially comfortable without looking over ones shoulder weather I'm driving my car or walking down a street. I would love to experience asia even more so having viewed this video. Thank you, again.

As a 65 year old White woman, I also appreciate that the Asian culture reveres the elderly. Since my hair has turned gray and, and now that I use a cane, I feel more vulnerable to preditors - like an "easy mark". And on the other hand I also feel invisible in certain situations. How sad that America is like this! This video was very eye-opening for me. 👏

As someone who lived in South Korea for 6 months, I agree with all these sentiments. I have been back in the US for over a year now, and I miss the feelings I had in Korea every day. For context, I am a recent college grad who has been working as a Software Engineer for half a year at a pretty well-known company, and the hostility I get at work is unlike anything I have ever experienced in my life. I'm pretty good at my job, but some people can't get past the fact that I'm black and still go out of there way to make life hard for me. It's pathetic. But, I am a very optimistic and happy person. I have friends and family all over the world that I talk to keep me afloat. I have been to other countries and have seen the world outside of the US. There are people all over the world that love us and will treat us much better than how we're treated in the US. This has been my experience. Don't fall into the trap that the world is against black people. We are living in a time where people around the world are waking up to the fact that all the things they learned about black people through western media were lies. I plan to move out of the US in a few years and start working towards a career as a professor, but in the meantime, I'm going to make the most money I can in the US to help my family, establish a good financial safety net, and put that money towards resources that can help my community. If you are a black person living in the US but can't immediately move, please know that you are not alone and there are people here to support you. I want you to succeed and live your most fulfilled life. In the meantime, use your situation as motivation to pursue your goal. That is what I have done and it has me gotten far. I didn't come from much, but through my efforts, I was admitted to a top school in the US, got an engineering degree, and got a high-paying job. But money cannot replace happiness. I'm certainly planning to ultimately move to a country in Africa, but Asia may be an intermediate stop. If you are a black person living in the US and enjoy your life, I'm happy for you and want you to find prosperity wherever you may reside. Continue to thrive and show the world how great you are!

I agree. Like I recently mentioned, I have three College degrees (2 in English and 1 in Arts and Humanities) and I am currently working on obtaining my TEFL/TESOL certification. I want to work/live/travel and teach every 4 months in a different country. Spain, Italy, France, and perhaps China or Japan are countries I prefer. As a progressive forward thinking African American lady, I believe traveling is important for black people and collectively we should do it as much as our resources allows us to. Plus, living in America is not good for black people. I have my passport and I know the world is my oyster.

@@madamelogicbombdropperblac7799 Yep you go girl!! America is a hindrance to black women and men succeeding as they try to instill in black people that everyone hates them. @@Bayo106 People said the same about stuff like--as an example again--slavery & women's education, that people need to be completely rid of class systems & notion of who's superior & who's inferior, before those could be made possible. well, class systems & notion of 'superior people' are still very well alive & not gonna go any time soon, yet we can see how far we've progressed in those areas. Media could be used in a variety of manner, be it to educate or to indoctrinate. sure, we got a lotta shit in the media doing a lotta shit to people, yet there's also a good being in media contents. TV, movies & whatnot did ALSO play quite a role in lessening discrimination of non-white people & the LGBT, for example, which had been deemed utterly unthinkable just 50 years ago.

The man that articulated the notion that perceived or possible racial comments are merely an observation and not rooted in centuries of colonialism & persistent racism. What struck me the greatest is when I heard something like “their history isn’t in the soil” [in relation to the blood & tears of victims America was built on]. That was powerful.
