A few years ago on a road near our house me and my dad found a praying mantis that had been run over. We went to see what it was and we found this strange worm coming out of its abdomen. At first we thought it was its intestine but later we found out it was the parasite Chordodes Formosanus.

They are the most confusing to me because I had entomology last year in my agricultural engineer course. We swapped professor half way and the new one handed us new material that claimed that Mantis and Cockroaches belong to two different order but the previous book claimed they are in the same order.

Grrr it's not an eggsac, it is a ootheca. Well done not saying that they always eat their mates...it's rare, not common.

Grabbing them from the back is a dangerous and they can die from stress if you do this
