Many overlook a couple verses in the third chapter regarding the fruit, and what Adam and Eve gained from it. The forbidden fruit was probably figs. The fig tree (leaves to cover themselves!) is the only tree mentioned in the narrative. To day, the Garden of Eden with these two special trees are probably at the bottom of Karakul Lake, on the southeastern edge of Eden, the Pamir River. This is not the only time a place is hidden at the bottom of a body of water. Sodom + are cities now at the bottom of the Dead (Salt) Sea.

What I find interesting is Eve knew the fruit was good for gaining wisdom just looking at it. Adam and Even had a much greater spiritual awareness than today, and could understand the spiritual power of things just by seeing them. This is also how Eve "heard" the devil in the serpent. Adam and Even had dominion over every created spirit as well as the the natural world. This is why Jesus even had dominion over demons. The fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil was a spiritual weapon that could be used against good or against evil; the power to fight against even the power of God and the divine. If God was sinful, it would have been right to take the fruit against His will, but this was not true, so the penalty fell upon Adam and Eve. However, Jesus showed the penalty could be overcome through righteousness and obedience to God's will. In fact, the penalty could be thrown upon the devil who tempted them, for we know the devil is the one who hell was designed for. As to why the devil was allowed in Eden, one could argue he sincerely believed his words, and was just as innocently corrupted by the knowledge of good and evil when Adam and Eve sinned. Spirits are essentially mental constructs that allow a being with authority to achieve a certain result; when Adam and Eve ate the fruit, the knowledge of evil corrupted the devil. Ezekiel 28 says that Lucifer was innocent until the day iniquity was found in him, meaning it was that very day that the devil sinned; he was not evil when he was created. Therefore, like Jesus is a stumbling block, so too is the knowledge of good and evil like a deep, dark pit one falls into. It was created so that the true light of men would be made manifest, so each human would gain the knowledge of God and become like him, having both authority and wisdom; no longer remaining ignorant of right and wrong, and able to create like God did in the beginning; this is why we were made in the image of God, and why Adam was the first son of God, yet Jesus was the 77th: the word "seven" is similar to the word for "pure" in Hebrew. This means Jesus is the "purest of the pure", which made him worthy to have both the knowledge of good and evil and eternal life from the tree of life.

I'm not saying you have to repent of every sin because no one knows all their sins. However, you have to have a "spirit of repentance" in which you recognize you have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Jesus is the exception because he never sinned, yet even Jesus was humble before God, as we should be. Even the demons believed in Jesus (AND TREMBLED!!!), yet they were not saved. You must repent of your sin and recognize your rebellion against God is the source of sin. Then, you begin the process of sanctification; sadly, many Christians never complete this process unlike Jesus, Enoch, and Elijah did and must wait for the resurrection at the second coming. Do not focus on the "fruit". The fruit is just an object, but focus on what God did say to Adam and Eve. God wanted them to be obedient to Him by doing what He said "not to eat that fruit". He knew that satan would asked them to eat it. When God created Adam and Eve, they are pure, no sin, they're the consciousness, non duality. And then, satan asked them to eat the fruit which is actually just a fruit, but means they would be disobedient to God. They heard for the first time what satan wanted them to do. I tend to lean toward the fruit making Adam and Eve fertile/sexually attacted to eachother (hence why they started to cover themselves and hid from God in shame, i think they were purely innocent and didnt need to consummate marriage as Eve was from Adam for Adam)... procreation, blessing and a curse, a child(or 2) and pain for eve, children for Adam but being powerless to watch Eve in pain (something they would have never felt before) starting the cycle of life and death, knowledge of good and evil ...they had to leave the garden of Eden because they chose (free will) not to live the life that God wanted for them as carers of eden. The snake moved things along and "intervened" I believe after a time God would have given them a choice between the tree of life (live forever together in the garden) and the tree of good and evil (to go into the world beyond with knowledge that they could procreate but would eventually die) amd thats why the trees were there, they were told not to eat them coz it wasnt time but the snake pushed them to choose with a lil trickery (not telling them everything, just enough to get them to eat) and so God couldn't allow them to procreate and also live forever hence banishment away from the tree of life.

The only thing that's known is if you read the original text is that it was around fruit, apple's technically or not round therefore that would exclude them yesterday around and appearance but the technically they're not round so that would exclude them, we know that it's around fruit because if you read the original translation it's a round fruit and that's all we know that it's some sort of round fruit technically I would say it's some sort of berry because that's the only thing that would have a roundness to it this technically around when it forms into a fruit so it would have to be some sort of burial of some sort. For the serpent (what ever form it had, before the Fall) to beguile Eve. It had a voice, an intellect, it could speak to Eve in a way she could understand, an relate to, due to her cognitive ability an intellect, so she could also reason and was readily persuaded to listen an obey the serpents promises. These functions by the serpent, are not available with snakes today. Now "he" whispers into peoples ears, thro their thoughts, to get them to do his will.

In pseudo Apocrypha in the story of Adam and Eve it clearly states that the fruit is fig, but the fig is so big that is almost a size if a man. But in Apocrypha i forgot which book exactly, because i have read it about a year ago it doesn't say what type of fruit, but rather it was described as being in clusters. So thinking that i only know figd to the normal figs i know are not clustered and i never heard of a clustered figs, but just ro make sure i googled clustered figs and indeed there are clustered figs in modern times. The reasoning that the figs are very big probably because of the perfect environment of the garden east of Eden

The fruit was not an actual fruit. Fruit is for edible food for the nutrition of the body. Trees sometimes represents men in the bible and the fruit of that tree are lies which leads to death. It's not literally fruits on a tree, it's all symbolism and allegory. The high priests and scribes passed on important information through stories that they didn't want the "mundane" to know.
