Even Jesus was dead for 3 days before God resurrected him. Man's only hope after he dies is the resurrection of the dead at the last judgement.

How does this answer the question about the tree? The tree was put there as a temptation, so what have you given your children to tempt them? The question is, would you punish your children for the rest of their lives for being rebellious as children like god is doing to humans?

What you say is very philosophical and I can understand what you say, but if that was gods real intention why did he not give Adam and Eve knowledge from the get go? You also mention freedom, what is real freedom to you? Is it being able to be unapologetically yourself and not having the pressure to conform with socially accepted norms, and to be without the weight of judgement from society? Or maybe something else? A lion in a cage is harmless? Is he alone in the cage? And if the lion is and is harmless does that mean those who put him there should be feared?

In the wrong hands this knowledge can have severe consequences. Today the earth is in crisis because man wants to gain more knowledge wants to send rockets to space, what are the consequences on this planet we call home. What have we left for our children?

@@sunrise8015 nuclear knowledge is in the wrong hands, the only reason nuclear bombs are made is because the creator intends to use them, wether now or in the future, but if god knows everything that was is and will be I don’t understand why god even bothered creating us knowing where it would lead us Firstly I won’t give you knowledge but there’s a tree that contains it and because I know everything, I know you will eat of it and gain knowledge that I didn’t want you to have, so either why not give the knowledge or not make the tree, they seem like the two glaringly obvious choices but that’s not how it happened Then and correct me please because I don’t know the bible like you probably but then the world fell into sin from that point and the world went down the toilet so to speak, like it has now, so god sent his sun Jesus to absolve us of our sins? The sins that god knew would happen even before he decided to create us? Now I’m sure if I asked someone if they had a child and here’s some money can please get me these things from the shops so I can make dinner for us later, but that person knew that lots of people had been mugged and beaten up near the shops, would they send their child to the shops ? I’d expect the majority would say, no way, but if their child also had that knowledge but still wanted to go, I’d expect most parents would still it’s not happening, and why? Because I don’t want anything bad to happen to you they’d say I’m just trying to make sense of it, but it seems I’m struggling to do so

@@liveanadventure429 will you go in for a child knowing that there was a 50% chance the baby would develop a dibilitating illnesses. Many of us would, even if autism, epllepsy, diabetes, runs deep in the family. Do you know why, because of the other 50% HOPE that things may turn out well. Just like us God has given us the freedom and hopes we make the right choises.

Who ended up choosing for people NOT born yet, and RADICALLY altering their nature and innate awareness, including of the 'test' they found themselves in? And would children always want to be in eternity, with the protagonist, of say, Leviticus 25:46, or Samuel 15:15?

Could your view explains the reason why we have these injustices and why evil is in our world in your world view? I see injustice and evil in the world tornados earthquakes and illness among many other things but I don't see the need to add a justification for god or devil to accept the natural explanation of why this happens. And everything seems strictly materialistic, and If I´m presented a God that make the rules because he is all powerful (unless you define god as not all powerful) then if the things that we describe as bad (Illness natural disasters and many others things) could be different if god wish them to be different but if he does allow bad things to happen is because maybe he doesn't exist or he wishes not interfere or he is indifferent to our existence and many other hypothesis that are unfalsifiable by the nature of the question. That why I asked what would change your mind if you have to chose what god if any is real (the loving god, the hating god, the indifferent god, the god that don't intervein and many other variations) Furthermore if you think this god do actually makes something happen in our material world many Christians says is thought prayer but can you in any way say that praying is useful how can you actually know that praying does or does not make anything happen neither good or bad, and God would not interfere no matter what you do, then maybe your main effort of trying to do better with prayer and god is not useful. I answer that is is actually impossible to know if god make something happen rather than chance so then is the same argumentation as before I don't see the need to add a justification for god or devil to accept the natural explanation of why things happens. And everything seems strictly materialistic with exception of miracles that are described on the sacred book of your choose like bible, quram, mormon book and on many other religions however this miracles stop to manifest in our current day with the exception of the ones that are no different than chance. Now in the same terms the argument for evil is that God is the ultimate Justice and in the end everything will be fair and square even thought we have no reason to expect that to be true but in a sense is a security blanket to avoid facing the harshness of an indifferent reality whether it's heaven and hell or karma it serves the same purpose My view in this matter is to actually face reality because when you realize that there's no good reason to believe that the natural world is anything other than indifferent to our existence and our perceptions of good and evil. Dealing with reality on reality's terms is the only way to make any real improvements in the situation of course that life isn't fair but that's actually comforting if you think about it if life were fair that would imply that you actually deserve the bad things that happen (all that we have described suffering illness natural disaster and more) to you and that those who benefit from evil deeds are similarly deserving. The realization that there's no reason to expect justice is what ensures that we take steps to impose justice the realization that good isn't always rewarded is what drives us to reward it when we see it the realization that evil isn't always punished is what drives us to work together as a cooperative society deal with our problems collectively and individually in a way that encourages real change and that hopefully minimizes harmful actions realizing that justice isn't guaranteed allows us to appreciate it when it happens and work toward ensuring it on a more regular basis A particular god concept view of justice sometimes represents irresponsibility and injustice if the chosen religion has mankind born as reprobates guilty before we've taken a single breath responsible for things you have never done and it offers instant undeserved forgiveness for the most horrible of crimes and punishes people whose crime is disbelief when there was lack of evidence to support the believe. This justice is more likely to be divine edict that could be arbitrary ultimately because there is nothing you can do to save yourself even if you wish to do it, if this God has not select you first to be saved. Yes I realize that there are bad people out there who've escaped our flawed justice system do you realize that most religions systems says that they're all eligible for an eternal paradise. How does that address the objection under the rules of a religion that a evil person (no matter the crime child abuser, murderer, dictatorship and the worst you can imagine) who escapes justice here can also escape ultimate justice under the rules of religion he may live forever in paradise while someone who spent their entire life doing good helping others and contributing in a generally positive way to the one and only life we're sure to get ultimately is judged unworthy of that reward the problem for this justification of evil or justice if that shows no regard for real matters of justice, if the height is desire to feel special because a god thinks you're special and according to the paradigm anyone willing to believe and worship is special with no regard to justice or character or good or evil the law was established with full knowledge that no one would be able to fulfill it it was established to demonstrate this inability and then a loophole was established to let some people that god decide go through regardless of their standing with the law.

Short answer: To allow mankind to experience free will (moral agency), and allow us to choose between good and evil. Long answer: If Adam and Eve had never eaten the fruit, they would have never disobeyed God, and would have never been kicked out of the garden, and would have never left the presence of God. If they never left the presence of God, they would never have been placed in a position to choose between good and evil without being overly enticed by the good. God wants us to choose Him of our own free will, but in order to do that, He had to create a situation that would allow our first parents to leave His presence. Jesus was prepared to be our Savior from the beginning, before the world was even created, for the very purpose of bringing us back into the presence of God. This was His plan for us from the beginning.

Hold up... God creates two beings with child level understanding of the world and with no other humans to interact with, one day Eve meets a talking serpent who deceives her into eating the fruit. Mind you the serpent is actually the devil in disguise, someone with inconceivable number of years of experience. And he came out of nowhere! God allowed Satan in so he can deceive them and he knew satan was going to be successful too since he knows everything ... God did not give them an experience necessary to teach them about deceit and other things we learn from experience... Why do you find this to be a good plot?

@@jamesmswenko8292 seeing as though they were the first in existence, talking serpent would not seem out of the ordinary as they would not be aware that serpents could not speak. Now picture as though you were there in the garden of eden and you had a beautiful life, dominion of the animals and a beautiful companion and all of this was granted to you by God. God tells you that you should not eat from this one tree, you use your free will, make a choice and eat from the tree. If God had not given the option to eat from the tree their lives would carry no purpose as without choice, love can not exist. Love is the essence of that which gives life purpose. God giving Adam and Eve the freewill to choose to eat the fruit was granting them the ability to love (to choose). If reality was in the means of a mechanical engineer that dictated the outcome of every situation then where is the life and where is the love? You seem to ask a question without considering what the contrary may look like. The fact that you have the ability to make this comment on KZbin is applying the God given ability of choice in you. I think we could both agree we enjoy the freedom to write these comments and converse with eachother, yes? Therefore that sounds to me as a positive creation and a good plot or good outcome as you may put it.

Christianity is a humble ground of understanding that the life we live should never be taken for granted as we were gifted it and therefore you can not take pride in something that is given. God only asks us to choose him instead of ourselves and sin. If we do so we are rewarded with eternity in paradise.. Let me ask, did your father discipline you when you disobeyed his asking? I hope so and the same way there will be discipline or consequence for disobeying the Lord. It's made very clear that all we have to do is choose him and choose to love creation. If you think that is too much to ask and feel as though him giving you life and choice, with reward or consequence, is not love than how would you do it if you were God?

Good afternoon and Happy Sabbath. I used to think that the minute people die they are with God until I studied the Bible for myself and God taught me that’s not true. When we die , mans body is returned back to the ground and God takes back the Spirit which he gave to man that made man a living soul. The dirt of man plus Gods breath gives a living soul. In the Bible Jesus himself said in John 11:11-14 that Lazarus who he loved is sleeping, but he was talking about his death when he explained it to his disciples, because in verse 14 he makes it plain to them that when he said Lazarus is sleeping, I’m just making it plain that he is dead. When people die they do not go to heaven or in the presence of God, according to Jesus himself and His word, they are asleep and will remain asleep until the second coming of Jesus Christ, that’s when Ravi’s works will be rewarded and I pray that His works were genuinely from His heart. Many people do good things in the name of God but in their hearts lies ungodly motives. May God bless you and your family as we all prepare our hearts for Christ’s return.🙏🏽❤️💕

There are to many people who place their faith and trust in man or in a particular political party instead of in Jesus to save us. There is no person or political party that can save us from ourselves. If people want to know what is coming upon this earth just read Matthew 24. It is going to be much much worse and will continue in intensity and frequency until Jesus returns to establish his kingdom of righteousness and justice.

There were two trees named amidst others: the tree of life and the tree of knowledge of good and evil. They are symbols of the two lives. The tree of life is God's life and nature which He created man into and desires man should continue to live in. The second, the tree o of knowledge of good and evil represents the life independent of God where man lives by himself and faces the consequences thereof. God created man as a free thinking being and desires that man should choose to worship Him by freewill not as robot. It is in being just and living up to His justness that He gave man the opportunity to choose. Unfortunately, man chose a life independent of God and have been facing the consequences since then. Salvation as brought by Christ was God offering man an opportunity to connect back to the tree of life which he jettisoned at Eden. We still need to choose today to connect to the tree of life which is Christ. God is still not forcing anybody just as it was in the beginning.

Good explanation Martin but your answer only makes sense if you ignore the assumption in the original question. The question was why did God create them if he knew adam and eve will eat of the tree. The key is the foreknowledge. We would have freedom and love if we only assume that God did not know that Adam would eat of the tree, in which case Adam would indeed have had an option not to eat of the tree. But if on the other hand God knew Adam was gonna eat of the fruit, then Adam's will becomes irrelevant because his action is already destined. This is the paradox in our faith, we want to assume that God is all loving and all knowing. I don't think he can be both. I believe God is loving but not all knowing, because he gave us the will to choose.

Context is everything. From a parenting context, the short answer is another question. Why would any parent tell their children not to do something knowing they're going to disobey? All parents do this. In this context, God is a parent talking to His children. . . . From a Free Will context, we must first properly label the 2 opposing trees in the garden. Since one of the trees is labeled the The Tree Of Life, the other tree can be properly labeled the Tree Of Death. So in order to understand the commandment forbidding eating from the Tree Of Death versus eating from the Tree Of Life, you must understand the importance of the very first commandment that preceded it. The first commandment in Genesis says, Be Fruitful And Multiply. This commandment is so important that it was repeated twice before giving Adam and Eve the second commandment which forbids eating from the Tree Of Death. By disobeying the second command, you will automatically choose to have less children or no children at all, which leads to the death of mankind. The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil represents education and knowledge without understanding the effect of a mis-education, and deceptive information on an individual's desire to be fruitful and multiply. We will all perish for lack of understanding and crashing fertility rates. Or Voluntary Complicit Extinction. Therefore, we purposely choose death over life. We purposely choose Terminal Depopulation.

@@tbaiyewu when God says He knows the future then He knows that the first couple will fail? Right? Wrong. When the plane your about to use will crash will you still ride in it? Then why many people die from plane crash? Same scenario you don't blame someone when your committed action fails. God’s knows but he still created a way for humans to be save. Our freedom only make sense with obedience to God, your freedom when you put your thoughts separate to God’s thoughts are temporary. Hope some one can answer this I have not found an answer yet thanks for your time 1) Did Lucifer had free will to decide to rebel against God? 2) Or did God created Satan just for the purpose of trying to find the true humans who love him and will worship for eternity? 3) Is the "corrupted world" the "trials of Satan" the way to determine what humans will receive salvation in their heart and will go to heaven with God and what humans will go to hell? 4) If God is all knowing and all powerful Why not create only the first group of humans that will get salvation and not the second so in this there is no need to send most of mankind to hell?,

Without it there is no relationship. In weddings , people say “I do” at last that implies a choice they take for the rest of their lives.. In our Job, parenting etc…everywhere we have choice today all because God started the idea of giving mankind a choice which makes life meaningful…. That tree in Eden symbolises choice .. unfortunately the very first human picked the wrong choice , that’s the difference… No mistake from what god put there…

My problem with this question is that if you ask this same question to say 10 other religious experts, you will get different answers. The first guy gave his own thoughts, the second guy gave his own thoughts, so how do we now know who is saying the real truth and who is far from it?. If you ask me, they both didn't do any justice to the question, but I like the fact that the second guy first played the technicality card by saying christians also ask the question, before answering the question. With what I've watched, I'm over convinced that religious leaders answer questions based on their human understanding, beliefs and ideas; if they're getting their answers from the same omniscient god, their answer should at least correspond and not sound like one school of thought vs another school of thought.

The answer to this question is ,God kept that tree of Good and evil to see whether Adam and Eve would be faithful or not. Eve had something in her heart when evil said that you could become like God. She thought about it. The choices we make destroys us. The fact is Adam and eve had God's life in them. Complete God's life in them that means they were almost like God but creation. They had dominance over all creation. Still she made a wrong choice. Now God restores same power ,His Holy Spirit in our lives so that we can live victorious life. That is Revival. 🙂

If i may say also that the very answer to the question "if God knew that Adam and Eve will eventually eat from the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil- why put it there in the first place?" is actually written there in Genesis chapter 2: 8 and 9 were it says: "The LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden, and there He put the man whom He had formed. And out of the ground the LORD God made every tree grow that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. The tree of life was also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil." We have to understand and realise that the reason why these 2 (two) unique trees were there in the midst of the garden is because God decided to put it there for His own divine reason and purpose even before He created man and put him there in the first place. God wanted to show man who He is as the owner of the garden or land. It should be noted also that the garden was not full of wild or assorted trees but rather "fruit bearing trees that are good to eat and pleasing to the sight"... Then after that, Genesis 2:15 says "Then the LORD God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it." --So this is why they were there! to minister to the Lord! To serve God as their way of showing their love for Him! We should also notice that contrary to some assertions that "God promised if you don't eat the forbidden fruit you will not surely die"--this is a twisting of the actual narrative of God. (Because we have to remember that the Bible is God's means of communicating His will and mind to us.) The TRUTH is that God commanded them not to eat from that tree! And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, "Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die." Genesis 2:16-17 So finally i would like to share that according to the Bible, God manifested His greatness by creating wonderful and amazing things like the whole universe. It declares His glory in every thing He did including the planting of those two unique trees in the garden. Then God created man in His very own image that they may be eternally blessed and grateful of such kindness and love shown to them by the Creator. God also immediately after creating man clearly identified His greatness and divine right by issuing the very first spoken commandment to make man see and understand who God is as ruler. They enjoyed fellowship with God and God was with them in the most unbelievable ways we never had the opportunity of. They saw how God looks like, He walked with them, talked with them regularly! Should i say more? Its truly an experience beyond words! But then according to Romans 1:18 to 32, mankind began to loose grip of reality. their love for God diminished, their respect for Him slowly become as the wind, they did not even think it worthwhile to retain their knowledge of God's words, they became unthankful and begins to focus on themselves rather than keeping the relationship with God alive. What made them eat the forbidden fruit was not because there was a snake (Satan) who outwitted them, it was not the clever conversation of marketing strategy of the devil that made them fall for it. No, it was indeed their loss of love towards the Greatest Lover they could ever have. This is true of us really. We have sinned. But praise God! The Lord came walking in the cool of the day to remedy their situation! God became man and Jesus died for all of us in just the right time! (Romans 5:6 to 11) Anyone and everyone can receive salvation by believing His story of love, grace and salvation! Relationship with God will be restored if we surrender to the loving nail marked arms of Jesus! And the Blessed Lord- The Holy Spirit is here to lead and help us grow in faith and the knowledge of the Son of God (Ephesians 4: 7 to 16) and has given us biblical churches with real brothers and sisters to join us in celebrating real life as we all bless and thank and love and glorify our gracious and magnificent God who gave Himself for us! I have watched this clip three times to see if I can get the same answer as God put in my heart. Mr Ravi Zachariah is correct. Firstly, I have never been honest with God. I just keep saying that I believe in Him but that was about it. And I realised I don't know God. I was never a good human being. Until I choose to change all of that. I choose to kneel and humble myself to God even though I don't see Him. I decided to read the entire Bible during the lockdown. As He promised, that His words, the bread of life, food to my soul will open up to the babes (”At that time Jesus answered and said, “I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and have revealed them to babes.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭11:25‬ ‭NKJV‬‬). I have the same question. My explanation here comes from chapter 1 and 2 in Genesis. And God put this answer in my heart saying the tree act as His sovereignty over us. Even though we created in His image, we are not equal to God. He knows that we are highly intelligent creatures because He made us. He also knows He gave us free will. A freewill to choose Him or not. A freewill to obey Him or not. This free will is so dangerous to humankind. Because we can choose to rebel against God. Another question popup with this statement, why did God gave us free will? If you want to answer it is answer it with the question again, this time to yourself, when you were young did you honestly want your parents to tail you or control you all the time? If your answer is No!, then you've got your answer. God understood this controlling principle. Although God knew about it, He has no option but to give Adam and Eve full free will due to the justice and righteousness principle. Remember GOD is a law maker. A just and righteous one. God knows this must be applied to Adam and Eve. Adam and Eve know no evil, that is why they can see God face to face as part of newly fresh human beings. And for that, He has to create a first decree, A tree. A tree bears good and evil. This is very important to God in terms of righteousness and justice. The same right and just are applied when He gave Adam and Eve their free will. Therefore, to balance this thing the first law must be created. He ordered Adam and Eve not to eat nor touch this tree, otherwise, they will die. This is the same gift that God has given to His angel satan. This is the same gift that made Adam and Eve fall. The reason they are cursed and kicked out from presence of God. But God gave with the benefit. I believe that God encapsulated a power with this Gift so we can get back to Him. Satan cannot touch as proof. Satan can only whisper. That's all he can do. Evil hearts can easily listen to these evil whispers. This gift must be exercised daily, to choose to do good or to choose to do evil.” As human being, we must do our part. Once you've done your part and choosing Him, He will do His part and He will do the rest of it for you. Remember, while we are here on the earth, the curse of God remained in us until we die. This the reason why we work, eat, wake up, eat again and work. If you think about it, Adam and Eve deserve it. Because God has given them all He created and made them ruler over them -namely earth, animals and to themselves. He can never take it away from us. It will be against the principle of righteousness and justness. To overcome this, God must create another decree. A decree of blessings to all who exercise goodness and justness. Another decree that if He asks us to do Good and we obey, He will bless us and that blessing will remain in us if we remained in faith until we get back to Him again. But if God asks us to do good and we refused to do that, God honours that and respect that also, but also, if we reject Gods goodness, we accept satan automatically without knowing it. Because God has no part at all in satan's work. Satan being satan, will grab you almost simultaneously because Gods protection and power has departed from you the moment you reject His goodness. This is the reason why so many people even born again Christian fall from this. This the reason why so many people do not believe in God because they know that God is loving and forgiving and yet they are in misery and distress and depressions. Additionally, God has asked His people to do good but refuses and do bad instead. And when the trouble comes they blame everything on God. Remember our sins can be passed on to the third generations up to the fourth generations if we sinned against God. However, if a child exercised his freewill and humble himself or herself before God, He is more than willing to pardon and bless you again. God will never turn His back to good news and just. This is who He is. This is His nature. God can also allow satan for great destruction if we despise Him to the core. God knows His people and sometimes, He allows people to be executed in order to save Gods people. Our free will must be exercised daily. This free will help us to get back to Him. This free will help us to believe in Jesus Christ the Messiah. This freewill will help us believe in the blood of Jesus that is so powerful, it can cover our sinful nature. Shalom.

But being omnipresent is not necessary. God's established dwelling place is in the heavens. Omnipresence means, can be found everywhere. Remember that God created everything and exclaim it is good. The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil is no exception. When God put it in there, He meant no harm. It is there for a reason. My guess is that they are not yet ready to take the fruit of that tree, thus the prohibition. If is not the tree, I think it would be something else, because we have the capacity to choose. God is willing to take the pain. Pain would be followed by mercy, followed by sacrifice and forgiveness and followed by love and gratefulness and then beautiful and loving relationship.

It shows with every Significant Biblical Figure after Adam and Eve. The most prominent example is Moses. Many times, God put Moses to a test of faith, saying he had felt like abandoning the Israelites, time and time again after their doubts, though Moses insisted he should have faith in his people. God wasn't losing faith in the Israelites, he was seeing if Moses had faith in them, and therefore having faith in God. It always seemed like Moses was changing God's mind, but in reality, he knew Moses would stay humble, and often, he asked God to punish him before he did the Israelites. God finds pleasure in upheld faith in the moment. Edit: In conclusion, would it really be fair if Adam and Eve had never eaten that fruit? Sure, they would have Eternal Paradise, and they will never commit sin, and always be righteous. But he gave us the free will to see us show our Faith in him through it. Jesus essentially opened an easier path to that by sacrificing himself on the Cross. "But whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” John 4:14 It is our own choice to accept him as the creator, not to be forced on us.

@@JaedenCage God may not have known adam and eves choice. The bible gives several instances where it seems as tho God does not know every single thing. For example it clearly states "he felt regret at making man" when it comes to noahs flood. So God is all powerful but not every detail is known. Now I understand that it is the voice of the devil.. I love my almighty father so much! He offered his only son so that I may be rescued.. I love my Jesus.. Remember everyone, that God is totally good and Holy, no bad intentions, no ulterior motive; and his ways surpasses all human understanding. So all our doubts and questions are so unnecessary even though it's valid because we already know the answer. It's like we're trying to reach a conclusion with only knowing a piece of the puzzle without realizing that the piece we had to the puzzle contained a summarized version of the conclusion itself. Some people might not know there was an answer given, some might be stubborn and bypass the answer and take the long route to find it. But it's simple, God will never hurt us or wish anything bad upon us. He loves you and me no matter what. Trust in his love. Imagine when people question that unconditional love, how heart-broken God may feel.

Sure there is a multitude of words in his response, but he was essentially tackling the question as well as any possible opposition to his response. The purpose of such seemingly long winded answers is ultimately to not only impart understanding, but to have the listeners ponder the matter just as much as the speaker has, tapping into his insight if you will. You can see this especially in the illustration he gave…so all in all I think it was a thorough response to what seemed like a simple but actually WAS an oversimplified question. God put two trees in the garden of Eden. The tree of all knowledge and the tree of everlasting life. The tree which bears the fruit of everlasting life was always there. Yet Satan chose to tempt Eve with the fruit of knowledge to discern good and evil. Satan did not want Eve to eat the fruit of everlasting life. Need I tell any of you, who bears the fruit of everlasting life? He did not appeal to Eve back then and he does not appeal to mankind even to this very day. Satan wants us to keep off the fruit of everlasting life even to this day. Sadly we are no different from Eve, we ask our children to eat from the tree of knowledge, for it brings money, fame and worldly wealth. Can I dare to ask knowledgeable Christians this question, did Jesus exist in the Garden of Eden as the Tree of life? For we know he bears the fruit of everlasting life. This question is really deep and the truth is that it can only be answered by the Holy Spirit. I once asked this question and God took me to several scriptures, Romans 9 throws more light into the nature of God in relation to us as humans,even Paul the apostle writing under the power of the Holy Spirit left some deep questions unanswered (Romans 9:19-24).If Adam and Eve never ate the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil,Christ would not have come(he wouldnt have needed to come) and if Christ never came,we wouldn't have been made members of the Godhead,call it the " fourth" person in the trinity if you will,at best we would have lived forever here on earth,ruling all creation as God's representatives on earth. According to Romans 8:19-23,all creation is waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God. I believe (I may be wrong,I may have gotten a wrong interpretation into what the Spirit was teaching me), everything happening right now is all in God's plan. The whole creation had to be made vain in order to bring forth humans into the Godhead. This is what satan wanted all along,that's why he's so mad God gave us freely the very thing he always wanted and rebelled against God for. Ezekiel 28:11-19 and Isaiah 14:12-15.

The scandal aside, Ravi was a brilliant mind. But, really, his answer to this begs more questions. Imagine this. You have many houses, in one house you placed there something you forbid your children to have. In that same house, you locked-up your most formidable enemy who's hell-bent on destroying evrything you have. You are not prescient, but by logic you know putting your kids there would be disastrous. Would you really still put your kids there? Wouldn't the demonstration of love and protection be placing your kids as far away as possible from all the ingredients of disaster, and teaching them what to do if the enemy breaks loose to come after them and present them what's forbidden?

Context is everything. From a parenting context, the short answer is another question. Why would any parent tell their children not to do something knowing they're going to disobey? All parents do this. In this context, God is a parent talking to His children. . . . From a Free Will context, we must first properly label the 2 opposing trees in the garden. Since one of the trees is labeled the Tree Of Life, the other tree can be properly labeled the Tree Of Death. So in order to understand the commandment forbidding eating from the Tree Of Death versus eating from the Tree Of Life, you must understand the importance of the very first commandment that preceded it. The first commandment in Genesis says, Be Fruitful And Multiply. This commandment is so important that it was repeated twice before giving Adam and Eve the second commandment which forbids eating from the Tree Of Death. This is where the first exercise of Free Will occurs. God gives you the choice -- you can choose life or you can choose death. Today we know this as Pro-Choice (Pro-Death is the proper label) vs Pro-Life. By disobeying the second command, you will automatically choose to have less children or no children at all, which leads to the death of mankind. The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil represents education and knowledge without understanding the effect of a mis-education, and deceptive information on an individual's desire to be fruitful and multiply. We will all perish for lack of understanding and crashing fertility rates. Or Voluntary Complicit Extinction. Therefore, we purposely choose death over life. We purposely choose Terminal Depopulation.

So a loving parent would be a controlling one then? To protect your kids, would you literally put them in a bubble and make sure that they had no choice but to do what you said for the rest of their lives? I don't think so. A parent who really loves their child understands that at some point their children will have to venture out in the world on their own and make their own choices. They teach them as best as they can and pray that they will choose Christ and make good choices. However, there is no real choice without agency to reject something. It would be like if someone proposed to you and then deliberately kept all other suitors away and/or kept you in a room that only they could visit. Could you honestly tell this person you loved them and wanted to marry them if no other choices existed? No.

This is about choice. The first commandment says be fruitful and multiply. Now comes the choice. You can choose life or you can choose death, If you eat from the tree of death then you will surely know death. You will not be fruitful and multiply. And you will live much shortened lifespans. If you obey by not eating from the tree of death but instead eat from the tree of life, you will have many children and live a much longer life yourself.

If man is free why do we need to be set free ? God has free will and always freely chooses right Genesis 18:25 and He is love, so if He had made man exactly like himself we would be robots incapable of true love according to Ravi. Also if God has determined man to be conformed or subject to His will we will also not be free according to Ravi , but God declares He is going to do exactly that to every creation 1 Corinthians 15:28 and that the Truth , or being exactly like Him as He is the Truth , will set us free.

Hi. I have a similar question: where did Adam's desire to sin come from? Personally, these questions are too deep for me! It seems from the Bible that both (seemingly) contradictory positions are true: 1) the creation is going exactly the way God wanted it to go (how could it be otherwise?) and 2) people have a free will, able to love God or reject Him. Why is it that I chose to love God and am eternally blessed while others shake their fist at Him? Where did my overwhelming desire to know and love God come from? I have no idea! But this one thing I know: God is good and His decisions are great. I do not comprehend God, but I have apprehended Him. I hope you know Jesus Christ personally. Friendship with God was destroyed by our sin; friendship with God restored through the cross. Jesus Christ is the light of the world.

@@nevbillett7554 Hi Nev. Of course I have heard a preacher talking about free will. "Choose this day who you will serve"? "Whosever calls upon the Name of the Lord will be saved"? Most importantly, do you know the Lord? Has He borne witness with your spirit that you are saved (Romans 8.16)? If not, if God has not directly told you that you are saved, isn't that presumption that you are? Remember, not everyone who says, "Lord, Lord" will enter the Kingdom of heaven, but only those who obey the Lord. Have you been baptized in the Holy Spirit (I am not referring to speaking in tongues, but a filling of the Holy Spirit)? Do you have 'rivers of living water' bubbling up unto eternal life? Do you know Christ personally or is He a distant, reverent figure to you? Have you been born again?

Romans 8:20 Against its will all creation was subjected (forced, jailed lol) to futility , in hope Romans 11:32 For God has consigned (jailed, forced lol) all to disobedience so that he can have mercy on them all No one bosses the Big Fella around, it is HE who bosses everyone else around . He is the only One with free will, everyone is going to do what He says : every knee is going to bow to Him and every tongue is going to swear allegiance to His will, Yahoo Hallelujah Isaiah 45:23 Hard to believe there are billions of crazy people under God's Sovereign command as Almighty King of the Universe ; that as His puny little subjects think that their supposed free will and choices trump God's will ah hahaha greatest comedy ever written. For any lunatic that desperately clings to the idea that man's will counts more than God's Daniel 4:35 will give you the slap you need to bring you to reality.

With answers like those, why do many insist that God did NOT intend for Adam and Eve to eat from the tree? No, this might have been an act of confusion (the woman) or one of disobedience (Adam), but it was not a mistake. As Ravi said, it was the only way.

Will there be temptation in heaven then. Cuz the garden was already perfect right? So he wanted all the disease, murder, wars, and hatred to come about. And not only in the garden, but again woth the flood. A perfect God couldnt do it right the first time, pretty silly

@@michaels2995 Revelation 21, 22 speak of a new earth, not a transition into heaven, nor a return to Eden-fulfilling Genesis 2: 5. The whole earth was made for mankind, not just Eden. With the curses of Genesis lifted, the new earth and city of Revelation are made of the same kinds of materials as the demised earth and city (Rev. 18-22) with the only significant difference being the light source. Is it that rather than seeing things with the light of the sun, they are now seen in the light of Christ? Consider that the "fall" wasn't a fall but a revelation-something that the first couple needed to discover. "Their eyes were opened," says the narrative. Now God's "image and likeness" was "just like God," knowing good and evil (Genesis 3). Problem is, she was not God, and became estranged from him. Made of the dust of the ground, mankind alone (the "bride") understood things through the flesh and the principles of this world. All well and good. But the "bride" was made to be yoked with God (Matt. 11:29), not to be alone. God has decided good and evil, not her. Is the "truth" of what she misunderstood in the flesh now to be understood in this companionship with the bridegroom? I think so.

Don't understand why Christians feel that using verses is giving an answer. Its a biased perspective, not everyone believes in the Bible. Just cuz its the truth for you doesn't mean it is for others. Lets talk human to human, not from a one-sided perspective smh

Exactly …spot on. I wrestle with this question concerning my actions. Why do I continue to eat of the forbidden fruit? All I can say is that I praise God for his son Jesus Christ who died for me on the cross. ❤ Today, my sins are washed in the blood 🩸 of Jesus Christ. He paid the price for our sins. ❤

This question is as tough as asking why God created Satan. The reality is that some questions like this are unanswerable. That is one reason why God values our faith in Him above all else. If we go by human logic, then God is not someone deserving of it. Truly, His ways aren’t our ways.

@@heidimarie4864, the things that God hates won’t exist forever. To answer your question: God allows sin and sinners to exist in order to have mercy on them. To your point, God could’ve simply extinguished both sin and sinner in the Garden of Eden when both man and Lucifer fell. Instead, God chose to let us live so that we might obtain mercy.

God created angels & man with freedom to choose, God did not create them with a sin nature, they chose to sin therefore they must bared the consequence of their sins. Angels & man can choose to stay with God or not to stay with God, God did not force them to sin. Before fallen angels became fallen, they were with God & chose to sin anyway, mankind did not have the privilege like the fallen angel that's why God came to save man but if man choose not to be saved, he has only himself to blame. The devil/demons work quite hard to make sure of that.
