Yes. I actually bought a sealed copy on ebay in 2011 or 2012 for $70, before the big retro gaming nostalgia boom ruined everything. I'd been reading about obscure PS2 horror games, and ended up getting Rule or Rose and Haunting Ground for WAY less than they're worth now. Kinda wish I'd kept RoR sealed now, but it is in perfect condition.

I got this game years ago at electronic boutique for $40 the cashier told me that was going to be a rare game in the future because it was being banned. I didn’t know anything about the game. I just picked it out because it have an interesting looking cover.

@@UDSGaming Funny enough, I bought it when it came out and never got rid of it. So whatever it cost upon release is how much I paid. Oh, and I also got the mini OST that came with the pre-order and I'm sure I have that somewhere around.

@@UDSGamingI do have Haunting Ground. My mom and sister helped me get it and we each paid for the copy altogether. I think another game I have that might be up there with the two horror games is Solatorobo. My mom got me that game back in 2014. Same for some old Pokémon games I have from childhood.

Any time I've bought a game to collect, thinking that it may be worth more later, it's never really happened. You never can tell which games are going to become highly valuable. It's kind of wild, and very infuriating when you just want to play one of them.
@RickyIcecubes7 ай бұрын
It's even more infuriating when you actually had a game that is now worth hundreds or even thousands, but you traded it in at GameStop for $7 in store credit 15 years ago.

Hi!! It’s me again. I did my first play through of Rule Of Rose! It took a while for me to finish the game (life gets in the way) but it was really worth it! When I played through the game the storytelling was very abstract with it’s symbols. 😟 I had a feeling the story is being told in Jennifer’s point of view. Meaning some of the stuff that happened can either be interpreted or really confusing. It made me think some of the events that happened are ambiguous. I liked it’s story and setting. The combat and camera are super dated. Needs work but the gameplay was interesting. I plan to do a second play through too. Look more into this game.

I bought Rule of Rose about 2 years ago, and it sits next to my copies of Silent Hill 2 & 3 on the shelf. At the time I paid 600 CAD, which was the cheapest I could find it for at the time, but I definitely don't regret it. It's one of my favourite games, too bad not many people have heard of it

Hi, I found out about Rule Of Rose around late August. I think because I was playing Haunting Ground and watched a lot of content of it, Rule Of Rose popped up in my recommendations. At first I wasn’t interested but afterwards I kept seeing and hearing about it among other people who acknowledged Haunting Ground. So I finally decided to take a look at the game. After all I was looking for horror games to play. This year I was starting to play games outside of my usual niche. Horror games was one of them. HG was the first horror game I played. ROR is going to be my second. I emulated the game on my PC and I plan on playing it tonight. I’m already really interested in this game. I’m excited to play it and I feel bad I did not know this game existed till now. I’ll be happy to give it the attention and share with friends. I would’ve loved a copy of the game but the price tag is a straight up NO. 😮💨 This game came out when I was turning 8. I wasn’t even allowed to play any M rated games till I got older which hindered my knowledge on games like these.

I had haunting grounds for about 13 years, sold it for $300 that went towards a series x, was worth. I still currently own the fatal frame/project zero trilogy as well as Kuon too, but might sell them off, i can emulate them in widescreen 4k on my series x + haunting grounds etc so yeah. I've never Finished rule of rose, only about 3 hours in back in the day, i think haunting ground set the bar too high, clock tower 3 is also overrated.

Oh guys... Guys... I've actually played the game, and I played it when it came out so I can tell you this with no hesitation, that game is not good and you should not play it! 😂 That game is terrible. So the enemies are actually placeholders, there are these little tiny clinging enemies and they're just awful and they're basically the only enemy type in the game outside of bosses, their AI is horrible, but that's not really the concern. Concern the concern is they don't really have much of an AI. The game was pushed out literally with placeholder enemies, so to say it was released in an unfinished state, it's correct, but also, I've really never seen any other game released in what the developer calls "an unfinished state" That doesn't at least have the final enemies in it. It's a very interesting game in video game history, I encourage everybody to watch a playthrough of it, but unless you specifically collect obscure horror games, there's no reason to buy it to play it. It is not fun to play, it's not really very fun to watch either. And time has not been kind to how difficult it was to get around, overall, improvements to controls and camera make this clunky little piece of history even harder to play if you're used to modern games. So it was bad for the time, and it's only worse now. Definitely don't feel bad that it's financially out of reach, you are not missing anything but a lot of frustration if you choose to watch a playthrough. Again, all of this is really public knowledge. You can look up the production history of the game and see that the game was literally not finished when it went to market, and oh boy does it show! OH BOY!
