Personally, my go-to rudiment for song-enders is the six-stroke roll. I'm a lefty who plays righty, and that rudiment for some reason feels more natural to play righty for me. It also makes it much easier for me to do runs down the toms, since fast single-strokes aren't my strongsuit. Plus it just sounds so freakin' cool.
