I was looking for my first Shure Wireless Mic. I've been using the SM58 wired mic for DJing and I totally love it. Most people I've had at an event was about 500 people. Which would you recommend? I've heard that this model has had issues with failing during ceremonies. I've looked at the Shure line, but it is very overwhelming. They have so many different versions and so many different mics as well. I only use it for speaking and announcements. Also, does it come with 2 batteries, one while you are using and that stays in the unit charging so that you have a fresh battery available at any time? Thanks

Yes, now that I've been using it for about 1 year now and at about 150 events I can honestly say this if the BEST mic system I've ever used for weddings. Yes, I bought an extra battery (comes with only one) to leave in the charger so I always have a fully charged one ready for the next event.

Are the antennas removable? If not, do they fold over and clean or do they go past the length when folded of the unit itself?

They are not removable. They do stick out a little when folded.

@@jpwpro Awesome, thanks for the heads up! I have the original GLX-D. If you also have that previously, do you notice a difference in quality?

@@kirbykracklemusic Yes, the original one would sometimes have drops outs (very short, but annoying) this one I’ve used for 5 ceremonies and receptions and NO issues what so ever. I love it!! I’m buying another one.

@@kirbykracklemusic there is a rack mountable version of this same system it’s about $75 more and I think the antennas are more flush when folded.

We have been using the PGX with No Problems then this year they are all dropping out like crazy per Shure the reason is because that band has been opened to different devices SMH does it automatically switch from frequencies to avoid drop outs or you gave to select in the beginning?

Yes, and it's dual band both 2.4 vs 5 ghz which gives it a lot more frequencies and that seems to be the answer, much better than the single band 2.4. It's now my go to mic for ceremonies and toasts at Weddings.
