The front brake is ok, if you actually ride SM and ride aggressive. You need the oversized brake. No getting around it. Also Angel GT or any other sportbike tire on a supermoto, will not heat up to operating temperatures. The bike is too light, so you will not get the grip you do on you chr. You need supermoto tires with a higher carbon content so they reach temp and become grippy. Your speedo mount, if you use the suspension fully, you will damage it. You can add zip tie to the chrome part of the fork as a guage to monitor your travel to see what I mean. I love you buddy but you give lots of uneducated facts and lead your fans wrong my friend

You must have ridden old dirt bike supermotos, times have changed bro. Try this 2019 yz and will see the light! As far as tires, the sumo forum is the place that recommended the Pirelli Angel GT's. For the record, these Shinko 705's are fine, just not much better than street tires off-road. I've off-roaded my CBR1000rr on Pirelli Angel GT's lol. That's when I knew it was time for a dual sport.

@@LouCFur90 I am saying they have s very hard time getting up to temp. To utilized the grip they are designed for. It's not impossible but it sure takes a long time. Tires should be roughly 170 degrees to have the grip. Surely no less than 130 degrees. Also the 690 is quite a bit heavier so the tires heat up more.

I said the same thing about my wr250r's weight before I rode this yz450fx, lol. And my wr250r only weighs 289 lbs wet as where my yz is 256 lbs, makes my wr feel like fat cow. I could not imagine 340 lbs and the Husky is physically bigger. There is no way you can take that to a motocross track and ride trails all day on it. @@CycleCruza Its absolutely everything I wanted, its honestly a little insane though. Even though this bike has 10hp less than the 701, it feels twice as powerful. I kinda miss the wide ratio transmission and the wifi would have been cool, but itll still do 100mph, which is more than enough to kill me. The only difference i can notice in the trans, is that 1st gear is a bit longer, but it works great for hooligan riding.

Cyclecruza. The other day i had a fucked up day! I am glad i had a helmet, coat and gloves. I was wearing jeans. I am planning on getting better pants, even though that wouldn't have helped with some injuries. Still i am grateful for the gear i had. Worth every penny. I live in Kansas and it snowed earlier. I forgot about the sand on the road and i hit it. First mistake, i overtook someone too slow. 2, i missed my regular turn so i made the turn i don't usually do with the motorcycle. 3, i made the turn too fast. 4, i neglected to change my summer visor so it affected my view in a very dark corner. The bike slid on the left turn, fell on my leg and dragged me. I have a huge scratch on my knee but that's the least of the worries. I am still glad i had the rest of the gear. My hand would be crushed and knuckle bone showing. My elbow and arm would be worse than my leg. I would have left my face on the street. Literally. I could have died that night from the angle my head hit the road. I have beem riding for over 10 years and i have never dropped the bike like this. Eventually we all fall. Wear gear. It's worth every penny!!!

That 690/701 maintenance schedule isn't looking so bad now, lol. My 690 smc weighs about 300 lbs. I'll take the 50 pounds over all that service. Your 450 is pretty sick, I can't argue against that, but I don't know why you were so worried about maintenance. You pretty much ended up buying/building the highest maintenance bike you could find. Also, you do not need to change the piston after 12 hours. Keep up on your valves/oil changes and the top end will make it at least 100 hours.

Change the piston every 12 hours?! And people say ktms are bad. I have 100 hours on my 500 excf and all I've changed is the oil around every 15-20 hours and a couple tires... And the tires to get are the contiattack sm. They are built for light weight supermotos so they heat up faster. Sport bike tires are made for 450lb bikes, a 250 lb bike wont push down hard enough to get them warm unless youre going flat out.

No. lol Maybe once a year I'll have the bike fully serviced, otherwise, I'm just doing oil changes and air filter cleanings. We'll see what happens. lol They say valves will stay in spec for at least a 100 hours on this YZ.

Can I stard on a 125 cc (A1) and then upgrade to a 600cc?
@-muthahell-85166 жыл бұрын
Man I see comments below about that you need an oversized brake ( 4 piston caliper) and for what you use the bike for your ( 2 piston caliper ) will be fine, i don"t think it is necessary , I would upgrade the front rotor to a free floating one ( It allows the rotor to self-center in the caliper, reducing drag and as a result it stays cooler ) You could put the solid rotor on the dirt wheels you have so you don't have to mess with the caliper adapter if you swap back and forth from sumo to dirt, also you rarely use your front brake in the dirt, same goes for the rear dirt wheel, just get a 44 tooth for it and you don't have to swap the chain every time as well....as for tires... the shinkos are a pig of a tire and a lighter tire you will notice a diff... since there were some comments below about tires I might as well put in my own damn 2 cents.... For street riding you want a Dual Compound ( harder center for street riding and softer shoulder for lean angle ) tire... as everyone knows street tires are a harder compound and track tires are softer compound..... My ( 1st ) choice for dual compound tires for sumo is the Michelin Power 2CT , lean angle of 50.6 degrees dry and 41.9 degrees wet..their light, warm up quick and sticky as hell.. # ( 2 ) would have to be the Pirelli Diablo Rosso 2 (Bi - Compound)...lean angle stats are similar......Just my opinion.....Ride Safe.......

And then there's me still thinking what's the best SUMO i can commute with. I know they weren't made for commuting but thats just me
@CycleCruza6 жыл бұрын
You might want a Husky 701 to commute on, much less maintenance and still a fun bike from what I hear.
@MegaZack616 жыл бұрын
A 610 sm Husky is also a good pick not as good as the 701 but way cheaper or a ktm 690

Honestly, I like the two factory maps on the bike, I may not even change it. However, I really like the maintenance feature, live monitor and engine diagnostics via wifi. I may try to make a custom map just for fun and have somebody send me their custom map.

What is a fire road?
@JDeezle216 жыл бұрын
They are un-paved but flattened gravel, sand, dirt or some mix of the three roads. They are fun on mountain bikes or ATVs or dirt bikes or really any vehicle you can have fun on. Think of Australian Outback.

@@JDeezle21 oh we just call those country roads, dirt roads, gravel roads here in Oklahoma they are everywhere. Never heard them called fire roads.

Wi/fi module excellent idea 💡 Track your maintenance and running ! Saves heaps cash getting the diagnostic device Module at back and app by Yamaha yr 😂
@CycleCruza6 жыл бұрын
Actually, the app has a button to run diagnostics as well, I forgot to mention that. The 2019 is leaps better than the previous previous generation, not just the wifi module, it has bigger stock tank 2.2 gals and centered down low and still dropped like 10 lbs compared to the previous gen YZFX. The weight of the bike feels so lightweight.

CycleCruza enjoy 😉 bro you seem to know a lot about it 👍🏼just not a fan replacing piston 12 hours use ? Is that for severe racing ...seems to much labour intensive for an average joe after 12 hours of use ? Nevertheless enjoy and luv your videos 👍🏼👍🏼

To everyone freaking out in the comments, this bike doesn't need a piston change every 12 hours, that's completely insane and false, and I don't care what it says in the manual. It's more like 200 hours if you're a relaxed rider and 100-150 if you like to push it some of the time. Motocross guys who push their bikes really hard literally 100% might need to do it very often, but that doesn't apply to 99% of you and even "low maintenance" dual sports would need a rebuild with that kind of abuse. At 12 hours the bike is barely run in with the way most people ride, you don't even need to change the oil that often.
@CycleCruza6 жыл бұрын
We'll see because I have no intention of replacing the piston but no more than once a year at most. I'm going to have the bike fully serviced once a year, valve check, piston replacement, etc. I'm just doing oil changes, air filter cleanings, chain cleaning etc. We'll see what happens. lol
@robfromga26 жыл бұрын
You don't change the Piston at 12hr. Jesus man.
@CycleCruza6 жыл бұрын
I won't but you are supposed to according to the manual's maintenance schedule. However, I will change it once a year.

@CycleCruza6 жыл бұрын
The yz450fx and cr450rx are better because it has a stator to keep the battery charged and allow for the street legal stuff but still has motocross power. They are meant to be hybrid bikes, for both MX and trails.

@midibudu6 жыл бұрын
he doesnt go to the track, CC can say as many times as he wants, but the WR is still used as a mainly street bike, 701 is a street bike and will do everything better, is dumb to buy a track bike if you are only using it for lurking arround on "twisty" roads, "you can go as low as you want" yeah...where? xD his twistiest road are a straight line compared to what i have 5 minutes from my town, just check the "LR-250"(or copy paste this on maps 42°18'14.2"N 2°25'08.0"W) Road on google, it still a really good bike, but is a dumb decision if you dont go to the MX track or a sumo/cart tracks
@bithynian37006 жыл бұрын
@@midibudu I dont think its a dumb decision. I would love to have one next to my bed. But as you said its a race bike. Anyway, i think we all know the problem here. We need a single 450 engine for the street. Not like Honda 450L. Actually like a WR450R.
